Oilers Break Team Assist Record in Win Over Ohio Valley

Vienna, WV – The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team played G-MAC conference competitor Ohio Valley on Saturday, April 6. The Oilers came out with a 22-12 win over the Fighting Scots. The Oilers are now 5-7 on the season with a 3-0 record in conference play.

The Oilers had a great day offensively with nine different goal scorers. They also had 18 assists on 22 goals in the victory.

Junior Ciara Burud had a great game with seven goals on 14 shots. Her 14 shots will tie the school record for number of shots taken in a game. She also had five groundballs and four caused turnovers.

Freshman Kendra Lindell also had a great game, scoring 3 goals and dishing out six assists. Her six assists will tie the school record for assists in a game.

Senior Brie Caruso had three goals and three assists, along with six draw controls and two caused turnovers. Senior Jacelyn Litman had two goals and recorded five assists along with one draw control.

Senior Hannah Peebles had two goals and one assist along with two groundballs and one draw control. Sophomore Allie Kasprzyk put two in the back of the net and also grabbed three draw controls.

Freshman Danielle Dilorenzo had one goal and two assists. Sophomore Hanna Morgan and freshman Ashleigh Lesser each had one goal apiece. Sophomore Maddy Jordan also added an assist and a caused turnover for the Oilers.

Senior Claire Ferrell picked up another win in net with seven saves and one groundball.

The Oilers also broke the school record for total assists in one game with the 18 they had against the Fighting Scots. The previous record was 16 assists against Alderson Broaddus in 2018.

Findlay will be playing at home next against Davis and Elkins on Friday, April 12 at 4:00 PM.
