Caruso Hits 100 Career Goals in Win over Senators

Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team played G-MAC conference competitor Davis and Elkins on Friday, April 12. The Oilers came out with a 20-7 win over the Senators. The Oilers are now 6-7 on the season with a 4-0 record in conference play.

The Senators started off the scoring for the day, putting a goal on the board three minutes into the first half. The Oilers quickly answered back, going on an 11 goal run before the Senators scored their second goal of the game. The Oilers were up 13-2 at the half.

The Oilers put up another seven goals in the second half and held Davis and Elkins to only five additional goals.

Senior Brie Caruso hit the 100 career goal milestone in the win, scoring four goals to put her at 101 career goals. She also had three assists, four draw controls, and two caused turnovers.

Senior Hannah Peebles also had a great day, putting up four goals and three assists. Junior Ciara Burud had one goal and two assists.

Sophomore Allie Kasprzyk and freshmen Ashleigh Lesser and Danielle Dilorenzo each contributed two goals apiece in the victory as well. Senior Jacelyn Litman scored one goal and had one assist.

Sophomore Hanna Morgan had a goal and an assist while freshmen Kendra Lindell, Liz Zatalava, and Madi DeVries each put a goal in the net for the Oilers. Lindell also tallied four draw controls. Maddy Jordan had one assist along with two ground balls and one caused turnover. 

On the defensive end, senior Lexi Miller had two caused turnovers and two draw controls while sophomore Brittany Stephens had two caused turnovers and also picked up two groundballs.

Senior Claire Ferrell took the win in net for the Oilers, making two saves on four shots in the first half. Freshman Rachel Bornstein made five saves on 10 shots in the second half to secure the victory.

The Oilers will be playing at home again on Sunday, April 14 against Florida Southern at 12:00 PM.
