Lybarger Leads Roughnecks At Nationals

The University of Findlay wrestling team completed the first day of the 2011 NCAA Division II National Championship on Friday, March 11 in Kearney, Nebraska. The Roughnecks were led by Michael Lybarger, who reached the semifinals of the 165-pound weight class.

Lybarger went 2-0 on the first day, defeating West Liberty State's Jarrod Shaw by decision (8-3) and Wisconsin-Parkside's Matt Gille by major decision (14-6).

Dan Stevenson finished the day with a 2-1 record in the 197-pound weight class and will move on and compete tomorrow.

Ben Sergent (1-2) and Adam Walters (0-2) were eliminated on the opening day of competition.

As a team, the Roughnecks are currently in 15th place with 14 points and will conclude the event tomorrow.
