#17 Roughnecks Finish 1-2 at Cliff Keen Duals
The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 17th in the nation, went 1-2 on Saturday, January 7 at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Cliff Keen National Duals in Springfield, Illinois.
The Roughnecks lost their opening match by a score of 27-12 against sixth-ranked Augustana, won 19-14 over Ouachita Baptist in their second match and fell 22-15 to seventh-ranked Central Oklahoma in their third match of the day.
Mason True led the Roughnecks on the day after posting a perfect 3-0 record in the 165-pound weight class while Andrew Tumlin did the same in the heavyweight division.
True came away with a 3-1 win over Augustana's Matt Morris, won 5-1 over Philip Dolan of Ouachita Baptist and won 8-1 against Central Oklahoma's Chris Watson.
Tumlin meanwhile pinned Augustana's Michael Roberts in 3:34, won 7-1 against Taylor Poe of Ouachita Baptist and pinned Central Oklahoma's Cody Dauphin in 4:27.
Michael Lybarger, the top-ranked wrestler in the 174-pound weight class, finished with a 2-1 record and defeated Central Oklahoma's fifth-ranked Kelly Henderson by a score of 3-1 in overtime during his final match of the day.
