True Leads #6 Roughnecks at MSU

The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked sixth in the nation, competed at the Michigan State Open on Sunday, Nov. 11 in East Lansing, Mich.  They were led by Mason True, who finished sixth in the 165-pound weight class.

True, who is the top-ranked grappler in his weight class at the NCAA Division II level, lost his opening match by a 4-1 decision to Kent State's Tommy Sasfy and then ran off four straight victories before being pinned by Bucknell's Corey Lear.  He then fell 6-2 by decision in the fifth place match to Central Michigan's Mike Ottinger to cap the tournament with a 4-3 record.

Andrew Tumlin added a 2-2 record at the event in the 285-pound weight class as well.

The Roughnecks will be back out on the mats again on Nov. 17 when they compete in the Harris Open, which takes place in Ashland, Ohio.
