#2 Falcons Top #7 Roughnecks 24-9

The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked seventh nationally, fell 24-9 to second-ranked Notre Dame College on Saturday, Feb. 2 in Croy Gymnasium.

Junior Ben Sergent, ranked sixth nationally in the 125-pound weight class, came away with a 2-0 win over Johnny Papesh in the opening match before the Falcons claimed the next two bouts.  Senior Jan Ulinski then tied the match at 6-6 with a 4-3 victory over James Jenkins at 149, but the Falcons controlled the rest of the match.

Second-ranked Adam Walters, a junior, was responsible for Findlay's other victory as he defeated Charles Mason by a score of 7-2 at 184.

Senior Mason True, ranked eighth in the nation, dropped a 5-3 decision to #3 Eric Burgey at 174 and senior Andrew Tumlin, ranked seventh, lost 6-4 to #5 Orlando Scales in the heavyweight class.

The Roughnecks will be back at home for the final time this season on Feb. 8 when they host West Liberty State University at 7 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
