#16 Roughnecks Complete King Open

The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked 16th in the nation, completed the King Open on Sunday, Nov. 24 in Bristol, Tenn.

The team was led by Jordan Cowell, who took third place in the 157-pound weight class with a 6-1 record.

Cowell earned his third place finish by scoring pins in each of his final two matches.  He pinned Limestone's Iasiah Bradley in 2:00 to reach the third place match and then took down Newberry's William Melko in 16 seconds to claim the bronze.

Bradley Metz finished fourth in the 165-pound weight class by going 4-2 and Schuyler Phillips finished fifth in the 125-pound weight bracket with a 3-2 mark.

Nicholas Skonieczny and Tyler Beck each finished sixth in their respective weight classes as well for the Roughnecks.

Skonieczny went 3-3 at 149 while Beck posted a 3-3 record in the 197-pound weight class.

The Roughnecks will return to the mat again on Dec. 14-15 at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.
