Walters Wins Midwest Classic

The University of Findlay wrestling team completed the 2013 Midwest Classic on Sunday, Dec. 15, which was being held by the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Ind.

Senior Adam Walters, the second-ranked wrestler in the nation in the 174-pound weight class, won his division with a 4-0 record to lead the Roughnecks.

Walters won the 174-pound bracket by coming away with a 5-3 victory over Western State's Elliot Copeland, who is ranked third nationally, in the finals.

He reached the finals by defeating Upper Iowa's Colbey Vance by a score of 5-3 in the semis.

The Roughnecks will now compete in the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Jan. 11-12.
