Roughnecks Drop Final Dual of Season | Look Ahead to Midwest Regional

Tiffin, Ohio – The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked no. 18 in the nation, dropped their final dual matchup of the season on Saturday, Feb. 10 against the Tiffin Dragons. Tiffin won the match by a score of 25-14.

The Roughnecks picked up their first win of the evening at 133 pounds when Michael Stewart earned an 11-3 major decision over his opponent and earned their next win at 149 pounds, a 9-3 victory from Josh Wimer.

Trailing 10-7, the Dragons went on to win the next three matches, one of which was by forfeit, to give the home team a 22-7 lead.

At 184 pounds, senior Bradley Metz, ranked no. 5 in the nation, dominated his opponent to earn a 15-3 major decision. After a loss at 197 pounds, senior Mimmo Lytle, ranked no. 9 in the country, picked up a 3-0 victory at heavyweight.

Findlay will begin its road to the national championship on February 23 and 24 when they play host to the 2018 Division II Midwest Regional. The event will take place in the University of Findlay's Koehler Center.
