The University of Findlay wrestling team wrapped up the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship on Mar. 13 in St. Louis, Mo. The Roughnecks finished with 23.5 points, good for 12th place.

Senior James Wimer took home the national championship in the 157-pound weight class with a 7-3 win over Lindenwood's Ronald Gamble in the final after advancing with a 3-1 victory against Central Oklahoma's Ty Lucas in the semifinals. Wimer, who went 4-0 at the tournament, finishes the year unblemished with a 14-0 record and becomes the ninth Roughneck to win a national championship at the NCAA Division II level and the first since Ben Sergent won at 125 in 2014.
