Findlay Defeated by Illinois-Springfield

Evansville, IN- The University of Findlay women's soccer team was defeated by the University of Illinois-Springfield 3-1 on Sunday, September 4 at Strassweg Field.  This loss gives the Oilers a 0-2 record for the season, while the Prairie Stars advance their record to 2-0. 

In the first eight minutes, the Prairie Stars capitalized off of a free kick to head the ball in the back of the net. 

Sophomore Marissa Swindell countered with a goal in the 20th minute with an assist from sophomore Claire Lasceski.  This results in Lasceski's second assist for the season. 

Six minutes later, the Prairie Stars score off of a breakaway, to end the half 2-1.

In the second half, the University of Illinois-Springfield scored, which lead to the final score of 3-1.

The Oilers totaled 11 shots for the game and the Prairie Stars ended the game with 16 shots. 

The University of Findlay women's soccer team will take the field again on Thursday, September 8 against Indiana Wesleyan at 4:00pm at DeHaven Field.
