Oilers Lose to Eagles

Findlay, OH- The University of Findlay women's soccer team lost to the Ashland University Eagles on Friday, October 7.  This loss gives the Oilers a 3-7-1 overall record and a 1-3-1 conference record.

With sixteen minutes left in the first half, the Eagles put the ball in the back of the net from inside the box to take the lead 1-0.

At the end of the first half, the Oilers had three shots on goal and the Eagles had six shots on goal.

Three minutes into the second half, Ashland capitalized on another opportunity in the box to put the Eagles in the lead 2-0.

Ten minutes later, the Oilers countered with a goal by junior Skylar Cooper, who took an opportunity from outside the box to make the game 2-1 in favor of Ashland.

With twenty-six minutes left to go in the game, the Eagles scored from inside the box, giving them a 3-1 lead. 

The Oilers countered again with twenty minutes left to go in the game off of a corner kick from senior Nicole Mikolcic.  Junior Jensen Kleis headed the ball into the goal to make the game 3-2 with Ashland in the lead.

With ten minutes left to go in the game, the Eagles scored off of a cross into the box to put them in the lead 4-2.

The Oilers ended the game with thirteen shots and five shots on goal, while the Eagles ended the game with ten shots and ten shots on goal.

The Oilers will play again on Sunday, October 9 at 12:00pm against Tiffin University in Tiffin.
