Kayla Walker Hired as Women's Soccer Assistant

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Kayla Walker as the full-time assistant coach for the women's soccer program. Kayla, who served last season as a part-time assistant, will begin her full-time role officially on July 1.

As a part-time assistant in the 2021 spring season, Walker helped guide the Oilers to a second consecutive regular-season Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) championship along with the program's first conference tournament championship.

"I'm excited to have Kayla as a full-time member of our staff", commented head coach Trip Rogers. "Her knowledge of the game along with her competitveness and desire to get the best out of our players made her an obvious choice for this position. As we look ahead to the fall season, we cannot wait to get back to work with our players as we set out to improve on what was a successful spring season."

Before coming to Findlay, walker was an assistant coach at the University of Northwestern Ohio where she helped lead the nationally ranked Racers to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament.

"Although she has already been on campus for a year, we are glad to officially welcome Kayla to Findlay as part of our full-time coaching staff", said Director of Athletics Brandi Laurita. "In a short time, she has proven to be a valuable member of our Oilers' family. We are excited to have her back on the sideline this fall and look forward to, not only seeing more success from our women's soccer program, but also seeing Kayla's growth as a coach."
