19 Earn Spots on ITA Academic Scholar Athlete List

On Tuesday, July 11, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2023 ITA DII Men's and Women's Scholar Athletes and All-Academic Teams. Both the men's and women's programs at Findlay earned distinction as an all-Academic Team while placing multiple athletes on the individual list, as well.

For the men, recipients include Alfredo Berlanga, Luigi Bove, Octavio Carrasco, Andrew Codita, Maxwell Hosey, Mark Ivanov, and Dallas Ramsey.

On the women's side, the honorees include Laura Brita, Laiying Alvarado, Cristina Nieto Soto, Luciana Pereyra, Madison Arquette, Emily Hadler, Reagan Resor, Lidia Laskova, Ivanova Lucero, Zuzanna Krygier, Anamarija Kovacevic,  and Emma Lynch.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • Be listed on the institutional eligibility form

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  • All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  • All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
