2014 Volleyball Schedule Released
The University of Findlay volleyball team will begin their 2014 campaign with a road trip to Missouri. They will face William Jewell (9/4) before taking part in the Rockhurst Tournament on September 5-6.
The Oilers will begin the tournament against Missouri Western State (9/5) and Northwest Missouri State (9/5). They will square off against Pittsburg State (9/6) and Rockhurst (9/6) before returning home to host Ashland (9/12) in their home opener.
After hosting the Eagles, the Oilers will remain at home for their next three matches against Lake Erie (9/13), Lake Superior State (9/19) and Northwood (9/20). They will then have five straight contests on the road, which begins with a trip to Hillsdale (9/23).
The Oilers five-match road swing will continue at Michigan Tech (9/26), Northern Michigan (9/27), Saginaw Valley State (10/3) and Wayne State (10/4), before they return to the friendly confines of Croy Gymnasium.
Findlay is scheduled to host Ferris State (10/10) and Grand Valley State (10/11) before taking part in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)/Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Crossover, which is slated to be held in Aurora, Ill. on October 17-18.
The month of November begins with three straight home matches. The Oilers will host Malone (11/1) and Alderson-Broaddus (11/1) in a tri-match before their final regular season home match against Cedarville (11/4). They will then travel to Lake Erie (11/7) and Ashland (11/8) before the GLIAC Tournament begins on November 12.
The semifinals and finals of the GLIAC Tournament is scheduled to take place on November 15-16 with the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional following on November 20-22. The NCAA Division II Elite 8, Final 4 and Championship is then slated for December 4-6 in Louisville, Ky.
