Oilers Win 8th Straight with 3-0 Victory over Warriors

The University of Findlay volleyball team won their eighth straight match with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19) win over Wayne State University on Oct. 10 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 14-3 record on the season with an 8-1 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers hit .423 in the match and were led by junior Hannah Tong, who posted 12 kills, five digs and two blocks. She also hit .550 in the win.

Freshman Amanda Winner recorded nine kills while senior Julie Lyons had seven kills and four blocks. She also hit .583 in the match.

Sophomore Nickyla Garverick and senior Andrea Roach each had six kills while freshman Hailee Olson recorded three kills, 38 assists and two digs.

Findlay returns to action again on Oct. 16-17 at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover in Aurora, Ill. against teams to be determined.
