Lyons Named GLIAC Player of the Week
Senior Julie Lyons was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week on Oct. 12.
Lyons led the Oilers to a pair of wins over the weekend with 19 kills, six blocks and three digs. She also hit .459 in the two matches. The Dover, Ohio native began the weekend with 12 kills and two blocks in the Oilers 3-1 win over #25 Saginaw Valley State on Oct. 9. She then capped the weekend with seven kills and four blocks in the Oilers 3-0 victory against Wayne State on Oct. 10.
Lyons leads the GLIAC in hitting percentage at .437 and ranks seventh in blocks with 58.
