Women take 13, Men 14, at Iona Meet of Champions
The University of Findlay Women's cross country team finished 13 while the men took 14 in Bronx, New York on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the 2011 Iona Meet of Champions.
Senior Christine Zimmermann led the Oilers with a 56 place finish and a time of 24:12. Junior Rachel Hosie and sophomore Samantha Hassen ended their runs with times of 24:51 and 25:07 to finish 75 and 85 respectively.
Also finishing for Findlay were Alexa Stults (25:18), Abigail Magner (25:19), Erica Goeltzenleuc (25:23), Kayla Sendelbach (26:32), Deidre Latham (27:17), Shelby Geyer (28:33), Jessica Cahill (28:42). Rebecca Hoffman (28:47) and Taylor Mohr (29:57).
On the men's side, junior Shoayb Bascal led the Oilers with a 63 place finish and a time of 26:47 while sophomore Justin Eilerman took 73 (27:01) and junior Tim Majoy finished 84 (27:18).
Sean Jones (27:29), Luis Velasco (27:55), Joe Guerra (28:45), Jacob Hayes (29:26), Brock Lloyd (29:47), Alex Betts (30:34), Connor Walthour (31:22), Dillon Webster (32:03) and Colin Walthour (33:05) also finished the race for Findlay.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 30 when the compete at the All-Ohio Championship in Cedarville, Ohio.
