Men and Women Finish Top 3

Results

The University of Findlay cross country teams visited Westerville, Ohio on Saturday, Sep. 19 for the Otterbein Invitational.

Men's Results

The Oiler men were paced by sophomore Matias Trampe-Kindt who finished with a time of 26:51.0, earning him 11th place.  Finishing close behind for Findlay were a pair of freshman, Jonathan Allen (26:52.6) at 14th place and Ty Gleason (26:53.2) at 15th.

Sophomore Sean Stockmaster (27:08.0) and freshman Austin Guthrie (27:09.5) rounded out the scoring for the Oilers finishing 23rd and 24th in today's race.

Also participating for The University of Findlay men were junior Aaron Cingle (27:39.2), freshman Michael Taylor (27:40.3), sophomore Reid Wolin (28:26.1), freshman Troy Schultz (29:13.1), freshman Tyler Beck (29:29.6), sophomore John Davis (30:12.4), freshman Dylan Jacobs (30:18.0), and freshman Hobie Cotsamire (31:30.5).

The Oiler men finished 3rd out of 17 teams and scored 87 points.

Women's Results

The Oiler women also showed success at the Otterbein Invitational with junior Melanie Ruich finishing 2nd with a time of 22:09.0.  With that time, she places fourth all-time at Findlay.

Senior Meredith Hoops also cracked the top 15 all time at Findlay with a 6th place finish at 23:04.5.  That time is the 14th best at Findlay.  Senior Erica Bettac finished close behind at 7th place at the 23:18.0 mark. 

Senior Samantha Grippe (23:27.4) earned 11th place.  Senior McKenzie Mahlmeister completed the scoring for the Oilers with a time of 24:06.2 to earn 22nd place.

Also participating for The University of Findlay women were sophomore Taylor Bolinger (24:26.9), freshman Torrie Purdy (25:29.4), freshman Heidi Paxson (26:49.3), junior Kailey Coleman (27:02.4), and freshman Claire Crum (28:51.7).

The Oiler women finished 2nd out of 15 teams and scored 48 points.

The Oilers look to continue their success when they travel to Cedarville, Ohio on Friday Oct. 2 for the All-Ohio Championship.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
