Cross Country Kicks Off Season in Bluffton

Results

The University of Findlay men and women's cross country teams opened their season on Sep. 1 at the Back to Nature Preserve Open in Bluffton, Ohio. The women's team finished second with 72 points while the men placed third with 81 points.

Women's Results

The Oilers had three athletes place in the top-10 and were led by senior Taylor Bolinger, who took third with a time of 18:37.4. Sophomore Madisen Borer placed eighth at 19:32.5 and junior Torrie Purdy was tenth at 19:37.2.

Sophomore Madilyn Greiner (20:49.9), sophomore Jenna Shipman (20:58.4) and sophomore Maggie Kise (21:36.4) also competed for Findlay at the event.

Men's Results

Junior Jonathan Allen led the men's squad by taking sixth with a time of 18:52.7 while sophomore Ty Gleason crossed the finish line in 19:33.9, which was good enough for 15th place.

Junior Tyler Beck (19:48.4), freshman Jack Adams (19:49.7) and junior Austin Guthrie (19:54.1) finished 19th, 20th and 21st, respectively, while junior Michael Taylor took 23rd with a time of 20:03.8.

Freshman Ryan Kohout  (21:04.9), freshman Joe Lauck (24:19.7) and sophomore Dylan Jacobs (25:17.5) also competed for Findlay in Bluffton.
