Oilers Cross Country Finish First at Tiffleberg Invitational

Results

The University of Findlay men and women's cross country teams competed at the Tiffleberg Invitational on Saturday, September 15. The Oilers finished in first place for both the men and women's teams.

Men's Results

The men's team came in first with a team score of 26, beating out the second place team Malone by a margin of 41 points. Five Oilers finished in the top 10 of the race to help secure the team win.

Senior Jonathan Allen paced the team by finishing in second place with a time of 26:01.5. In fourth place, senior Taylor Michael finished with a time of 27:36.4 and close behind him in fifth place was sophomore Jack Adams with a time of 37:42.9. Junior Ty Gleason came in seventh with a time of 27:47.5 and in eighth place was senior Austin Guthrie with a time of 27:51.4.

Other runners for the Oilers were freshman Drew Toon who finished in 24th with a time of 29:45.5 and sophomore Ryan Kohout who finished in 35th with a time of 31:58.2. Dylan Jacobs finished with a time of 32:04.4 and junior Freshman Wade Hopkins finished with a time of 33:53.1.

Women's Results

The women's team were able to beat out Ursuline by one point to come in first place with a score of 51.

Freshman Gabrielle Lawrence paced the Oilers by finishing first with a time of 24:07. Coming in third was sophomore Matilda Jeruto with a time of 25:28.5. Senior Madilyn Greiner finished the race in seventh with a time of 25:38.7. Senior Torrie Purdy finished in 19th with a time of 26:48.3 with freshman Vannessa Goewert right on her heels coming in 21st with a time of 27:22.9. Freshman London Moening came in 34th with a time of 29:50.3.

 

The men and women's cross country teams will be running again on Saturday, September 29 at the All-Ohio Championship in Akron, Ohio.
