Oilers Wrap Up Hillsdale Invitational

The University of Findlay men and women's cross country teams opened their season at the Hillsdale Invitational on Sep. 12 at Hayden Park in Hillsdale, Mich. The men took fourth place with a score of 111 while the women took fifth with 127.

On the men's side, freshman Gabriel Foster led the team and placed 20th with a time of 27:43. Freshman Jordan Foster (28:09), freshman Colin Moats (28:33), and junior Wade Hopkins (28:52) came in right behind him. Foster took 27th, Moats was 30th, and Hopkins was 33rd.

Freshman Aidan Ruiz placed 37th at 29:22, senior Ryan Kohout was 38th at 29:32, and freshman Devon Bill was 42nd at 30:19. Junior Will Nowak also finished with a time of 30:19 to take 43rd.

On the women's side, junior Gabrielle Lawrence finished sixth overall with a time of 22:57 while freshman Baylee Hack was 25th at 24:10.

Freshman Hailey Wilson finished 36th at 24:36 while freshman Maya Hamsher (24:58) and sophomore Morgan Gaskins (25:31) placed 43rd and 49th, respectively.

Sophomore Meghan Donoher took 50th place with a time of 25:37, freshman Justine Hunt placed 57th at 26:09, and senior Matilda Jeruto (28:06) came in 70th.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Sep. 25 when they host the Findlay Invitational at Hillcrest Golf Club.
