Oilers Wrap Up All-Ohio Championship

The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams completed the final day of the 2011 All-Ohio Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, April 16. The men finished fifth with 74 points while the women took 12th with 15.5 points during the event.

The Oilers 4x400-meter relay team of Shawnathan Fort, Greg Schaible, John Guagenti and Simon Bernard captured first place after crossing the finish line in 3:17.40.

Guagenti added a second place finish in the 400-meter dash at 48.33 while Cory Vales was second in the high jump after leaping 6'08.75, a provisional mark.

Lyndon Johnson was third in the 200-meter dash (21.82) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.10) while Tim Sanders was third in both the 110-meter hurdles (14.93) and the 400-meter hurdles (53.72).

Cody Crockett added a third place finish in the javelin with a toss of 184'08 and Nathaniel Kurtz was fourth in the shot put at 54'01.25, a provisional mark.

On the women's side, Lindsey Schmitmeyer was second in the 800-meter run with a provisional mark of 2:13.02, Randi Depp was seventh in the hammer throw with a provisional heave of 175'00 and Brittany Thomas was seventh in the high jump at 4'11.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 23-24 at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
