Oilers Compete In Knoxville and Cincinnati

The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tennessee as well as the All-Ohio Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday, April 15.

At the Sea Ray Relays, Raven Clay won the 100-meter hurdles with a NCAA automatic qualifying time of 13.36 while Lindsey Schmitmeyer was 14th in the 800-meter run at 2:13.65, a provisional mark.

At the All-Ohio Championship, Erin Calvelage won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:11.12 and Jaclyn Bares was first in the javelin at 89'06.

Brandi Wright took second in the javelin with a toss of 82'00 and Rachel Hallman was third in the same event at 80'02.

Katherine McHenry added a third place finish in the 5000-meter run after crossing the finish line in 19:12.13 while Abigail Magner took fifth in the 10000-meter run at 41:34.13.

On the men's side in Cincinnati, Nathaniel Kurtz won the discus with a provisional heave of 168'04.

Jordan Kirwen was second in the 5000-meter run at 15:37.14, Tim Majoy was second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:37.97, Luis Velasco was third in the 5000 at 15:51.82 and Brock Lloyd finished fourth in the 10000-meter run with a time of 33:41.93.

Both events will conclude tomorrow.
