Oilers Complete Meet At Miami

The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams completed the Miami University Invitational on Saturday, April 9 in Oxford, Ohio. The meet was delayed due to thunderstorms.

On the men's side, Lyndon Johnson placed first in the 100-meter with a time of 10.95 and took second in the 200-meter at 21.79.

John Guagenti won the 200 with a time of 21.78 while Cory Vales won the high jump at 6'08 and Shane Shockey was victorious in the pole vault with a provisional mark of 15'11.

Nathaniel Kurtz took third in the shot put (56'06.75) and the discus (165'03), both provisional marks.

Curtis Smithey added a third place finish in the 400 at 48.40 while Tim Sanders took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a provisional time of 53.74.

On the women's side, Raven Clay won the 100-meter hurdles with a provisional and meet record time of 13.43 while also taking third in the 200-meter dash at 24.73.

Randi Depp added a seventh place finish in the hammer throw with a provisional mark of 175'11.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 15 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tennessee as well as the All-Ohio Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio.
