Clay Breaks Record At Oberlin Invite

The University of Findlay men and women's track and field teams shined at the Oberlin Invite on Friday, Jan. 13 in Oberlin, Ohio.

On the women's side, Raven Clay set a new Findlay record in the 60-meter dash with her first place finish and a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.33.  She also dominated the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.88.

Clay was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that took first with Christine Zimmermann, Catherine Wiemers and Jhazmyn Anderson with a time of 4:08.00.

Zimmermann was also a standout individually with a first place time of 1:20.15 in the 500-meter dash and a first place time of 3:02.28 in the 1000-meter run

Other Findlay winners were Alexa Stults in the mile run (5:30.28), Pam Showman in the 60-meter hurdles (9.65) and Abigail Magner in the 3,000 meter run (11:31.74).

On the men's side, the 4x40-meter relay team of Shawnathan Fort, Curtis Smithey, Tim Sanders and John Guagenti took first with a time of 3:32.93.

Sanders also took first in the 60-meter dash (7.19) and 60-meter hurdles (8.37) while Guagenti finished first in the 200-meter dash (22.47).

Other winners were Justin Eilerman in the 1000-meter run (2:34.89), Dillon Webster in the 500-meter dash (1:07.18) and Jacob Hayes in the mile run (4:31.65).

Glen Forsythe wrapped up the field events for the Oilers with a first place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 13.94m.

The men and women's track and field teams will be back in action tomorrow in Kent, Ohio for the Doug Raymond Invitational.
