Oilers Complete NCAA Division II Challenge

Results

The University of Findlay indoor track and field teams completed the NCAA Division II Team Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 4th in Geneva, Ohio.  

Raven Clay showed her dominance winning the 60-meter hurdles with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 8.38, as well as the 200-meter dash with an NCAA provisional time of 24.83.

Pam Showman and Brittany Thomas finished fourth and eighth in the high jump with marks of 5'02.25 and 5'00.25, respectively.  Findlay also had had three top ten finishers in the 800-meter run with Jhazmyn Anderson finishing seventh (2:19.06), Christie Zimmermann placing ninth (2:20.47) and Alexa Stults finishing tenth (2:20.80).

On the men's side, John Guagenti had a big day with a first place, NCAA automatic qualifying time of 47.28 in the 400-meter dash.  That time was also good enough to set the new school record.

Shane Shockey had a first place finish of his own in the pole vault with his NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 17'00.00, while Glen Forsythe took second in the long jump with a mark of 21'08.75.

Justin Eilerman broke his own school record in the mile run with a third place, NCAA provisional time of 4:13.31 while Dillon Webster's NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:54.27 was good enough for a fifth place finish in the 800-meter run, and Tim Sanders placed second with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.21 in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Oilers will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 10th for the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
