Track Completes Action In Don Kleinow Memorial Invite

Half of The University of Findlay men and women's track and field teams completed the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational on Saturday, April 14th in Adrian, Mich.

On the women's side, the 4x100-meter relay team of Taylor Ackerman, Shelby Stump, Emily Caudill and Kristen Gaerke placed fourth with a time of 50.93.  Gaerke and Stump also teamed with Deidre Latham and Catherine Wiemers in the 4x400-meter relay to take fourth with a time of 4:11.09.

Individually, Stump placed fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:01.06), Kayla Sendelbach and Latham placed fifth (2:24.27) and sixth (2:24.50) in the 800-meter run, Pam Showman placed third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.06), and Rachel Hosie took fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:29.97).

In field events, Bethany Grimes and Brittany Thomas placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.63m while Laura Kelly took sixth with a mark of 1.57m.  Kendra Averesch placed fourth in the hammer throw (43.58m), fourth in the shot put (12.22m), and sixth in the discuss (36.10m) behind teammate Stephanie Donaldson, who took fifth (37.05m). 

On the men's side, Taylor Miller and Darren Bass finished first and second in the shot put.  Both had NCAA provisional qualifying heaves of 16.76m and 16.35m, respectively.

Bass also placed first in the discuss with a toss of 46.17m, while Miller placed in the same event with a mark of 45.23, and fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.12.
