Averesch, Vicars, Miller Compete In SPIRE Opener

Three members of the men and women's field teams competed in the SPIRE Collegiate Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 15 in Geneva, Ohio.

Kendra Averesch was the lone athlete representing the women's team at the Spire Opener, finishing second in the shot put with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 45-11.75, and a fourth place finish in the weight throw with mark of 52-01.75.

Marcus Vicars and Taylor Miller participated in the shot put for the Oiler men. Vicars placed second with an NCAA provisional qualifying heave of 54-08.00, while Miller placed third with a mark of 51-00.00.

The Oilers are scheduled to be back in action on Jan. 12 for the Doug Raymond Invitational in Kent, Ohio.
