Oilers Compete At Division II Team Challenge
The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the NCAA Division II Team Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 2 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
For the men, the 4x400-meter relay team of Michael Travis, Tim Sanders, Kyle Smithey and Dillon Webster placed second with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 3:16.48. Individually, Sanders also placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.26.
Justin Eilerman and Jacob Hayes placed fourth and seventh in the 1-mile run with times of 4:21.88 and 4:28.47, respectively, while Darren Bass placed second in the shot put with an NCAA provisional qualifying heave of 52:03.25.
On the women's side, Pam Showman finished third in the pentathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying 3,332 points, while Alexa Stults placed third in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:14.34.
The men and women will be back in action on Feb. 8-9 when the travel to Boston for the Valentine Invitational.
