Kenneth Agee | 1982 | Inducted 2000

After spending a brief time at Ohio University, Kenneth found himself wanting to attend a smaller college, so he transferred to then Findlay College in 1977. Once at Findlay, Ken was a member of the Findlay Football team. He was named to the NAIA All-American Team. As a fullback, he scored 102 points in the 1981 season, which puts him at a number four on the top season scorers, number three in season touchdowns and number two in rushing yards. He played nose guard for the NAIA National Championship team and was named to the All-District 22 Team. He still holds the Hoosier Buckeye Conference and UF record for the longest run from the line of scrimmage (96 yards). His football success with Findlay landed him a try-out with the Seattle Seahawks. In addition to his football accomplishments, one of Ken’s most satisfying moments while at Findlay was being appointed to tutor Professor Joseph’s anatomy class. Ken was also a member of the Black Student Union. A Cleveland native, Ken met his wife, Brinda James ’86, at Findlay. The two have three children, Kendra Tiara, Kenneth Cameron and Kendall Benjamin. Ken, who earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education, health and recreation in 1981, is a juvenile correctional officer for the Ohio Department of Youth Services, working for the Shaker Heights Board of Education. He and his family live in Shaker Heights.

Philip Meyer | 1975 | Inducted 2000

Philip Meyer graduated from then Findlay College in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He earned summa cum laude honors for his 3.86 grade point average and the President’s Scholar-Athlete Award. A pitcher for Findlay baseball, Philip still holds the single season record for wins. His career pitching record, career winning percentage, games, complete games, innings pitched, strikeouts and hits are all impressive. In 1974, Philip won the pitching award and his team won the Hoosier Buckeye Conference. On May 16,1975, during the District 22 playoffs, Philip record two victories to help send his team and Coach Homer Shadle to the Area VI playoffs. The Oilers won three games that day. IN 1975, Philip was the Oilers most valuable player and named to the Hoosier Buckeye Conference first team, NAIA All-District 22 team, NAIA All-Area VI team and the prestigious AACBC Collegiate All-American team. Philip earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Toledo in 1983. Currently, he is the director of finance at Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Ind. He is also a Christian Youth Organization baseball coach, chairman of the United Fund (United Way), a Little League baseball coach and serves on the finance committee of his church. Philip and his wife, Sheila, have two children, Eric and Eileen. They live in Lawrenceburg, Ind.

Aaron Roth | 1989 | Inducted 2000

“Spectacular” has been one of the words used to describe the basketball skills of Aaron Roth. During his time at The University of Findlay, Aaron started in 114 of 115 basketball games. When he graduated, his team record was 88-27. Aaron received All-District 22 honors three straight years and, in 1988-89, was named District 22 Player of the Year and was given and honorable mention to the NAIA All-American Team. The Oilers fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,823 points, Aaron continues to hold the record for most assists in a game (15) and stands in 15th place on all-time points in a season with 511. Aaron’s fondest memory of playing at Findlay was winning the District 22 championship during his freshman year and traveling to the Kemper Arena in Kansas City to compete in the NAIA National Tournament. After earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1989, Aaron coached at several locations before landing his current position as varsity boys’ basketball coach and athletic director for McComb High School. He also teaches business classes. Aaron and his wife, Beverly Chamberlain ’91, are the parents of two children, Mason and Madison. They live in McComb.

Susan Wilkinson | 1973 | Inducted 2000

Susan started her years at Findlay when varsity athletics for women were just emerging. She played softball, volleyball and field hockey. She ensured that her sports would one day be recognized as varsity sports. While a student, Susan was president of Delta Zeta Sorority and was involved with the Panhellenic Council and the Women’s Recreation Association. After earning her bachelor’s degree in health, physical education and recreation from Findlay College, Susan went on to earn her master’s degree in education from Miami University in 1977 and her doctorate degree from The Ohio State University in 1983. Susan has been a teacher at McComb, Miami University, Ohio State University and University of Illinois. She was also a department chair and head tennis and volleyball coach at Muskingum College, leaving in 1983 with a 126-54 volleyball record. She is now an associate professor in the Department of Human Performance at San Jose State University. In the field of exercise and sport, Susan has gained the respect of her peers due to being widely published in national journals and magazines for athletes, most notably the “Journal of Teaching Physical Education” and “Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.” She resides in Gilroy, CA.

Ben Finch Jr. | 1979 | Inducted 2003

Findlay football started to gain national attention in the late 1970’s. several players attracted most of the attention and credit for the NAIA National runner-up trophy in 1978. A standout defensive end on that team, named Ben Finch, helped lead Findlay’s prominence into NAIA football. Having played on the only undefeated Findlay football team up to that time, Ben vividly recalls losing the National Championship game in 1978, which was his senior year, and then watching his teammates go on to win the 1979 National Football Title. However, Ben’s accomplishments overshadow whatever disappointment he might have felt over Findlay’s national championship loss. In 1978, Ben was named the NAIA National Player of the Week (first one ever at Findlay) as well as an NAIA All-American defensive end in both 1977 and 1978. A three-year letterman in football, Ben also earned three letters in track. He still holds the Findlay record for the javelin throw at 195 feet. Ben Finch will be remembered as “a consummate defensive end” with awesome football skills. Ben has 2 sons and currently serves as a Senior Corrections Officer for the New Jersey Department of corrections.

Dennis J. Guerra | 1979 | Inducted 2003

Denny Guerra believes that “athletics parallel life. . . Requiring persistence, hard work, sacrifice, commitment, embracing constructive criticism, and respect for those that have paved the road before you.” With that in mind, Denny has certainly left his mark for those two sport athletes that have followed him to Findlay. Denny was a two-sport athlete Football/Track and lettered in three times in both sports. In football, he was a two-year starter at running back during which time the Oilers finished the 1978 season as the NAIA National Runners-Up. He was the recipient of the senior award, which was awarded to the senior player with the highest GPA. In track, Denny enjoyed tremendous success. He was a three time Hoosier Buckeye Conference Champion in the 100-meter dash, a two-time HBC Champion in the 200-meter dash, and a one-time HBC champion in the 400-meter dash. He was a three time NAIA National Track & Field qualifier and finished 5th in the 200-meter dash and 7th in the 100-meter dash. Held school records in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters for many years and his 100-meter time of 10.2 and his 200-meter time of 21.24 still stand today. Denny graduated from UF with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is also Vice President of Commercial Lending with The Citizens Banking Company in Sandusky, Ohio. He is a Big East Official. He and his wife Pat have 2 kids and reside in Sandusky, Ohio.

Cheri Harrer | 1985 | Inducted 2003

In the early 1980’s female sports were still in their infancy and female athletes didn’t always get the recognition that they deserved. Cheri Harrer came to Findlay College from Bucyrus, OH to embark on what would become a very successful college career. While at Findlay College, Cheri competed in three sports – Volleyball, Basketball, and Track & Field. In Volleyball, Cheri lettered twice and was the team captain. In basketball, she was NAIA District 22 first team and honorable mention twice. She was a four-year starter and a three-time captain. She was named NAIA Academic All-American following the 1984-85 season. Finally, in Track & Field, Cheri was the Western Buckeye Collegiate Conference Javelin champion and conference record holder in 1984. She finished the 1983 season with the second-best throw. She was a track team MVP and still has the second-best javelin throw in UF history. Following graduation from Findlay College, Cheri embarked in a career in coaching. It began as a GA at Bowling Green, included stops at Bluffton College and her Alma Mater, The University of Findlay as Assistant Coach. She is currently the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Women’s Athletic Director, and Assistant Professor at Baldwin Wallace College. Her basketball teams at B-W have been extremely successful. She has twice been named the OAC Coach of the Year and the Ohio College Basketball Coach of the Year in 2000. Cheri graduated from Findlay College in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She received her Master’s degree from BGSU in 1986.

Bob Heitkamp | 1993 | Inducted 2003

Some people wondered if Findlay football would ever return to the NAIA powerhouse years enjoyed in the late 1970’s.  Players made sure that return would happen. Maybe the most valuable was linebacker Bob Heitkamp. Bob was a two-time NAIA First Team All-American and an Honorable Mention All-American as a sophomore. He was an NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week and was the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Game in the National Play-offs 3 times in two years. He was First Team All-District three times and was a Mancuso Award winner at UF as the top male athlete in all sports. He was the Society Bank MVP both his junior and senior seasons. Most importantly, Bob helped the Oilers back to the top of NAIA football with a National Championship in 1992. Bob was known throughout the campus and community for his quit nature and friendliness off the field, but had the unite ability to turn into a terror on the field. Bob graduated from the University of Findlay in 1993 with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He currently resides in his hometown of New Bremen, Ohio with his wife Amy and daughter. He is currently employed by the Auglaize Farmers Co-op as a Branch Manager and he is the co-owner of GMR Park.

Denny Maag | 1980 | Inducted 2003

Two sport athletes were commonplace in the 1970’s and 1980’s at then Findlay College. One athlete that not only played two sports but also excelled in both was Denny Maag. Denny played both football and baseball at Findlay college from 1976-1980. He was a defensive back in Football and was All-Hoosier Buckeye Conference and the team captain of the 1979 NAIA National Championship Team. He was also a starter for the 1978 NAIA National Runner-up squad. He led the team with 5 interceptions in 1979. In baseball, he was also All-Hoosier Buckeye Conference. He lettered in both sports all four years while at Findlay College. Denny has continued his success after graduating from Findlay College in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He has several banking degrees and was the former President of the peoples Banking Company. Denny has been extremely active in the community with the United Way, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the Fostoria Athletic Boosters. Denny is currently the Major Gifts Officer at The University of Findlay. He and his wife, Pam have 3 kids and reside in Fostoria, Ohio.

Tiajuana N. Newell | 1993 | Inducted 2003

In 1990 a young lady brought great running talent to the University of Findlay Track & Field program. Four years later, she had not only made her work on Findlay track, but NAIA National Track & Field as well. Tiajuana Newell started her career with a bang. She capped an outstanding freshman year by winning the NAIA National Indoor Championship in the 60-yard hurdles. She went on to become a 12-time All-American in Track & Field. She set 10 school records while at Findlay, but showed her versatility by competing in many different running events. Her specialty was in the hurdle events, where she held school records in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-hurdles, and 50-meter hurdles. She was also an outstanding long jumper and triple jumper. She was an NAIA District 22 champion in the 100 meter hurdles four times, the long jump and triple jump twice, the 400 meter hurdles once, and she was twice a member of the district winning 400-meter relay team. In 1999, Tiajuana was inducted into the NAIA National Hall of Fame. A true sign that she had made her mark at the highest level. Tiajuana graduated from the University of Findlay in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Systems Analysis & Business Administration. She is currently employed by the Ohio Savings Bank in Cleveland, Ohio as a Developer II and remains active in Cleveland with her son, Kenneth Jr.

Otis G. Smith Jr. | 1994 | Inducted 2003

The junior college route to college became a popular option for students in the late 80’s. Findlay basketball capitalized on this route in 1991, when Otis “Chip” Smith came to the University of Findlay after an All-American career at Owens Tech in Toledo. Chip helped to turn around a Findlay team, which had finished 14-13 in 1990-91. He led the Oilers to the NAIA Division I National Tournament in 1992 & 1993. The 1991-92 season included one of the programs all-time great wins when UF traveled up I-75 and knocked off NCAA Div. I Bowling Green State 79-68. Chip didn’t finish his career in any top 10 list because of playing at UF for just 2 years, but those who saw him play, will always recall is fire, leadership, and incredible perimeter talents that he brought to the floor. He hated to lose and rubbed it off on his teammates. He was named NAIA All-District both years and Honorable Mention All-American in 1992. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 in Sociology and has received several employee awards including an Outstanding Service and Social Work award in 1996 from the state organization. Chip and his wife Michelle (’93) have two kids and currently reside in Columbus, Ohio where he is employed as an Account Manager with Alliance Data Systems.

Paul Trina | 1980 | Inducted 2003

Every good ship has a good captain. Paul Trina was the captain of what became an NAIA football powerhouse at Findlay College in the late 1970’s. Paul was the starting quarterback for 3 years including 1978, when the Oilers were the National Runners-Up, and in 1979 when the Oilers captured the NAIA National Football Championship. He was a three-year letterman, an all-Hoosier-Buckeye Conference selection, and ended his career as a starter with a record of 27-4-2. He passed for 37 touchdowns and completed over 60% of his passes. He was named the student-athlete of the year in 1980 at Findlay College and as an Academic All-American the same year. He was an outstanding baseball player at FC. Paul was a two-year letter winner and led the team in hitting in 1978. Today, Paul is the Athletic Director of the Warren City School System, including Warren Harding High School. He is responsible for over 90 coaches in his school system and has taught for several years in the Warren system. Paul graduated with honors from Findlay College with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1980. He later went on to his master’s in Sports Administration from Ohio University and a second master’s degree from Youngstown State in Educational Administration. Paul and his wife Lorraine reside in Cortland, Ohio with their three children.

Kris Alge | 1985 | Inducted 2004

On the football field, Alge was a 4-year letter winner as a quarterback and punter. As quarterback, he was a 2-year starter and threw 22 touchdowns and for over 2,000 yards. He is still the all-time pass completion percentage leader with a 57% completion percentage for his career. He was 16-4 as a starting quarterback and twice named All-Conference & District. As good as he was as a quarterback, punting was his future. He was a 4-year starter as punter at Findlay and his 39.3 career average is still 1st all time. In 1986, he signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns and another with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1987. His football honors including being named all Hoosier Buckeye Conference and All-District two times. On the baseball diamond, Kris has the second most at bats all time at Findlay with 420 and led the Hoosier Buckeye Conference in pitching with a 2.35 ERA in1985. Alge lettered in Baseball four times and was named All-Conference in baseball as well. Kris graduated from Findlay College in 1985 with his bachelor’s degree in Education. He currently resides in Findlay, Ohio with his wife Kelly and 4 children. He is currently the CBI Coordinator and the Head Football Coach and Head Track & Field Coach at McComb High School. He has been named BVC Football Coach of the Year 3 times, en route to several BVC Championships and the McComb High School Teacher of the Year in 2000.

Greg Denecker | 1994 | Inducted 2004

Findlay Basketball had great success in the early 1990’s with a pair of NAIA National Tournament appearances. The success of those teams could be credited in large part to the consistent effort by former standout Center, Greg Denecker. The Blissfield, Michigan native had a blue-collar approach to the game and earned respect from fellow opponents and teammates for his effort and the numbers he put up in each game. Denecker’s career stats are impressive. He is the fourth all-time leading scorer in school history with over 1,800 points and scored in double figures 99 times in his career. He started 106 straight games form 1990-1994. He also finished his career as a top 10 rebounder all-time. He played a key role in many huge wins, none more impressive than Findlay’s 79-68 victory over I-75 rival Bowling Green during the 1991-92 season. Greg was one of the most well respected players in NAIA during his career. He was a 4-year starter, a 3 time NAIA District 22 selection, a 2 time NAIA National Scholar Athlete, and remains UF’s only men’s basketball GTE Academic All-American. He earned his award (Basketball’s highest honor} following the 1993-94 season as a second team selection. On campus, he was named the student-athlete of the year in 1994 9the Mancuso Award) and was also named the Social Science Student of the Year that year. Greg and his wife Chris have two sons and reside in Bluffton, Ohio. Greg is currently the Principal in Bluffton High School, a position he has held for the past 5 years.

Maria Newcomer Gleason | 1990 | Inducted 2004

Maria Newcomer Gleason came to Findlay in the mid 80’s to embark on a college running career and graduate in 1990 from The University of Findlay as arguably the best distance runner to ever run Track/Cross Country at UF. Newcomer Gleason’s name is still commonplace in today’s Track/Cross Country record book. She still holds the school record time in the women’s 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter runs. She is second in the 3,000 meter and 3rd in the Cross Country – 5,000 meter. Those times helped make her an 8 time NAIA National Qualifier – (3 in Cross Country, 3 in Outdoor Track, and 2 in Indoor Track). She was also a two time NAIA Indoor Track All-American in 1989 & 1990 in the 3 mile run and the NAIA District 22 Champion in the 5,000 meters in 1989. Academics did not take a back seat to her athletic achievements. She was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete – twice in Cross Country and twice in Track & Field. On campus, she was awarded the Mancuso Award by the Athletic Department in 1989 for her athletic, academic, and community service achievements. Maria graduated from The University of Findlay in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Art, Psychology, and English. She currently resides in Findlay with her son and daughter and is employed by the Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative.

Tony King | 1965 | Inducted 2004

In 1962, former Findlay College football coach, Lou Juillerat recruited a young man from Alliance, Ohio to help bring the NAIA football championship to Findlay. The national championship never materialized, but a great football player did. Tony King played at Findlay from 1962-65. He was named all-conference 3 times during his career on both sides of the ball. He was voted as the most outstanding defensive lineman at Findlay College. He helped lead the Oilers to the NAIA National Playoffs in 1964 after a 9-1 regular season. Many UF followers consider him as one of the all-time great defensive ends to ever wear a Findlay uniform. Following a successful college career, King was drafted into professional football and found a home with the Buffalo Bills in 1966. During the 1967 season, Tony joined forces with his brother Charlie to become the first African American siblings to play in the NFL together on the same team. Tony played professional football for 5 years before turning to his next career – modeling & acting. He played parts in several prominent movies and television, most notably as the stable boy in the movie, The Godfather, and a part in Magnum P.I. While acting remains high on his list, most of his time today is spent as President of the Global Security Agency that provides security for top acts. Tony is a member of the Alliance High School Hall of Fame, the Canton, Ohio Black Hall of Fame, and has been honored with numerous professional awards. Tony and his wife Diana are the proud parents of 4 children and reside in Los Angeles, California.

Eileen Kleinfelter | 1979 | Inducted 2004

Kleinfelter graduated from Findlay College in 1979 following a three-sport career in Basketball, Softball, and Tennis; and embarked on a coaching career that has taken her to the highest level of collegiate sports. She spent time as the head women’s coach at IPFW and was an assistant coach at 5 different Division I schools. In 1994, she was hired by UF to lead the women’s basketball program. And lead she did. Her first year at Findlay turned into a coaches’ dream season. The Oilers finished 32-2 in the 1994-95 season, which easily still stands as the best season all time at UF. She went on to acquire a career mark of 172 wins and 46 losses during her 7-year stint as head coach at Findlay. During that time, she led the Lady Oilers to 5 NAIA National Tournaments including 2 NAIA Final Courts in 1998 and 2000. In addition, she won 3 GLIAC South Championships after UF made the leap to NCAA Division II status. In 7 seasons at the helm, she recorded six 20 win seasons, coached 12 NAIA National Scholar Athletes, and was named the GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2000. She remains the all-time win leader as a women’s basketball coach at Central Michigan Univ. in 2001, a position she still holds today. Eileen graduated from Findlay College in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Phys. Ed. She received her Master’s degree from Penn State in 1984. She currently resides in Mount Pleasant, MI.

DeMya Wimberly | 1994 | Inducted 2004

Most great football teams are led by great Quarterbacks. The resurgence of Findlay Football in the early 1990’s and ultimately the NAIA National Title in 1992 can be directly linked in the arrival of a small quarterback from Hollywood, Florida named DeMya Wimberly. DeMya was the starting quarterback at Findlay for 4 years including 1992, when the Oilers captured the NAIA National Football Championship with a 26-13 victory over Linfield College. He was a four-year letterman, a four-year NAIA District 22 selection, a two-time Society Bank Team Offensive MVP, and the National Championship game MVP. Wimberly was the catalyst of the vaunted wishbone attack that the Dick Strahm coached teams became known for. He was equally dangerous with his feet and arm. DeMya ended his career as a starter with a record of 35-9-1. He is still second in the career total offensive category with 5,321 yards and passed for 29 touchdowns and completed over 50% of his passes. Equally adept at running, DeMya ran for nearly 2,000 yards in his career. A great leader and example to his teammates. DeMya is still the same leader he was on the football field. He is on the Administrative staff at the Lucas County Youth Treatment Center as a supervisor. DeMya graduated from The University of Findlay with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice in 1994. DeMya and his wife Lisa reside in Holland, Ohio with their three children.

Samantha Bradburn | 1989 | Inducted 2005

When someone is looking at the history of the University of Findlay softball program, Samantha Bradburn is a name that will be remembered forever. Samantha played from 1986-1989 at then Findlay College. During that time span, she placed herself in the record books for almost every statistical category. Samantha still holds the following single records: runs scored (51), hits (75), runs batted in (52), batting average (.563), triples (13), homeruns (11), total bases (130), slugging percentage (.878). Samantha also holds many career records including the following: runs scored (121), hits (171), runs batted in (122), batting average (.468), triples (29), homeruns (21), total bases (307), slugging percentage (.841). as a pitcher Samantha holds 2 career records fewest runs allowed (100) and fewest walks allowed (103). Samantha was the first softball player at Findlay College to be selected as an All-American. She was also selected District 22 player of the year twice. Samantha also played basketball while at Findlay College. She is 2nd all-time for career free-throw percentage (.784). Samantha graduated Cum Laude from Findlay College in 1989 with a degree in Political Science. She has been an Operations Supervisor at General Motors for 6 years. She was previously an Accounting Technician at Sinclair Community College for 10 years. Samantha has also volunteered her time to the Special Olympics and the “Shop with a Cup” program, which sponsors disadvantaged youth at Christmas. She is single and currently resides in Waynesville, Ohio.

Calvin Dietz | 1996 | Inducted 2005

Cal Dietz finished his outstanding athletic career at The University of Findlay with 3 National Championship rings. He is the only athlete in school history to do this with 2 in football and 1 in wrestling. Cal helped lead the team to NAIA National Titles in both 1992 and 1995. During his four-year span, he helped compile a record of 36 wins, 10 losses, and 1 tie. In 1992, Calvin was named Rookie lineman of the year. In 1995, Calvin was a Captain of the National Championship squad. He was named to the NAIA All-American team twice in 1994 and 1995 wasn’t enough for Cal; The University of Findlay Wrestling team went on to win the National Championship as well. In wrestling, Cal was the NAIA National Heavyweight Dual Champion during the team’s National title run. Calvin is currently the Head Olympic Strength Coach at The University of Minnesota. Calvin’s success hasn’t stopped after leaving The University of Findlay. Cal has developed programs for 7 NCAA National Team Championships, 17 Big Ten/WCHA Conference Championship team, 14 Big Ten/WCHA Tournament Conference Championships, 162 NCAA Division I All-Americans, and has trained numerous World and Olympic champions. Calvin graduated from The University of Findlay in 1995 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. He has also received a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota. Calvin and his wife Karyn have two children Tatum and Brody. They currently reside in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Derek F. Hutchinson | 1988 | Inducted 2005

Derek F. Hutchinson, a young brash received from Pennsylvania was catching passes all over the field. Many of his receiving marks still stand in football, while he also achieved greatness on the baseball field at the same time. The 1986 football season was one to remember for Derek Hutchinson. As a wide receiver, Derek set numerous records. He presently holds 4 receiving records at The University of Findlay. He is the record holder for most passes caught in a game, most passes caught in a season, most yards gained in a game, most yards gained in a season. He is currently 2nd all-time in receiving yards in a career and 4th all-time in career receptions. Derek was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 1986. He was also selected to the Hoosier Buckeye Collegiate Conference for 2 years. Football wasn’t the only success Derek has at Findlay College. Baseball was a natural fit for someone who flashed speed and quickness like Derek. Derek is 2nd all-time in stolen bases in a career with 47 and 56 attempts. He is 6th all-time career batting average and 2nd all-time for triples in a career with 6. Derek also used his arm to set a record for The University of Findlay baseball program. He still ranks 3rd all-time in saves for a career with 5. Derek graduated from Findlay College in 1988 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. He is currently an account executive for KForce. He has previously been the Vice President of Vistarms, a professional staffing organization. Derek resides in Paconian Springs, Virginia with his wife Jessica and daughter Elaine.

Martin “Moe” Jacobs | 1971 | Inducted 2005

Dual athletes were the norm during the 1960’s and 1970’s at Findlay College. Quite possibly none were better than Moe Jacobs from 1968-1971. Moe set records that still stand today in both Football and Track & Field. Crowds from far away would pack the stadium to see Moe run. In most cases, they were not disappointed. Moe was a speed demon on the track and football fields. In Track & Field, Moe earned himself the honors of being named All-American twice, in 1969 and 1970. Moe is The University of Findlay record holder for the 440 meters. He is also 7th all-time in the long jump. Moe was a 3-time NAIA District 22 champion in the 440 meters and long jump and Mid-Ohio Conference track championship high point performer. On the football field, Moe is The University of Findlay record holder for most kickoff returns in a game (5). While at Findlay College, he led the team in scoring in 1966, 1967, and 1969. He also led the team in receiving in 1968, 1969. In 1970, Moe was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. Moe graduated from Findlay College in 1971 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. He also received a Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in Administrative Services of Parks and Recreation. Moe currently resides in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky where he is a Health Education Teacher for the Cincinnati Public Schools. Moe has spent the past 34 years in Education and Coaching at several public-school systems including Toledo Public Schools, Troy Public Schools, Detroit Public Schools, Troy Athens High School, and Dearborn Public Schools.

Mark R. Newburg | 1976 | Inducted 2005

Mark is still the only athlete in school history to be an All-American in two different sports – football and wrestling. While at Findlay College Mark received his first All-American honors in football as an offensive guard in 1975. He was also selected to the Hoosier Buckeye Conference team that season. Mark was even more dominant in wrestling. He was the Hoosier Buckeye Collegiate Conference heavyweight champion in 1973, 1975, and 1976. Mark received his second All-American honors for his heavyweight division in wrestling. Mark was a dual major while at Findlay College receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration. Mark received a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. He went on to be active in several organizations including the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, and the American Gaming Association. He also severed as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the American School in Japan. Mark graduated from Findlay College in 1976 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He is currently the President of C2 Consulting, Inc. and Independent Business Consulting Firm. He was also President of Aristocrat Technologies Inc. Mark also made a huge impact at NCR Corporation from 1876-2001 holding positions in the Asia Pacific region and was also the Vice President of the corporation. Mark and his wife Dawn currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have three children.

Robert W. Cook | 1991 | Inducted 2006

Robert Cook, or Bob as he was known on campus, put together a tennis career that has been unmatched in the 16 years since his collegiate career ended. Bob graduated from Findlay High School and brought his considerable talents to Findlay College in 1986. While at Findlay College and later UF, Bob was named to the All-District 22 team for all four years, while competing at #1 singles each year. He was the conference tournament runner-up and was ranked 25th in the NAIA National Poll in 1988. Bob later gave back to his alma mater by coaching the Oilers tennis teams from 1997-2000. Most college athletes see their career end on graduation day. Bob is one of those exceptions. He continues to gather awards as the continues to compete in tennis tournaments throughout the Midwest. In fact, he is ranked as the #12 player in the Men’s 35 division in the National Poll. He has won many open tournaments and continues to represent the city of Findlay quite well in some of the region’s top adult tournaments. He has been a certified USPIA Level 1 tennis teaching professional since 1991 and has served as a teacher to many of the top players in the region. Bob and his wife, Kate, have one daughter and still reside in Findlay. Bob graduated from UF in 1991 and recently accepted a job at the Findlay YMCA East tennis complex. He previously worked as a tennis professional at various clubs in Toledo and Lima.

Kelly (Murray) Jay | 1988 | Inducted 2006

Kelly came to Findlay College in 1984 after an incredible high school career. In fact, she is still the all-time leading scorer in basketball at Arcanum High School – boys or girls. She continued her excellence in both basketball and softball in college. On the basketball court, Kelly set records that remain today. She holds the following records; most assists in a season (128), three-point fields made in a season (78) and during a game (6), three-point field goals attempted in a game (12), and three-point field goals percentage in a season at nearly 48 percent. She was a three-year letter-winner and led her teams to the WBCC championship twice. On the basketball court, she was named First Team All-Conference, All-District 22, and was an NAIA National Scholar Athlete. In addition to her exploits in basketball, Kelly, was also a standout softball player. During her three-year career, she was All-District 22 three times, named to the All-WBCC three times, and was also named an NAIA National Scholar Athlete in Softball. She led her softball team to a three-year record of 86-25, including three WBCC titles. Kelly graduated from Findlay College in 1988 and later received her master’s degree in education from the University of Dayton. She was inducted into the Arcanum High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Celina High School Athletic Hall of Fame with a team in 2005. She has been a successful high school English teacher for the past 18 years, including the last nine at her present employer, the St. Marys City School System. She resides in St. Marys, Ohio with her husband and son.

John Jeffire | Coach | Inducted 2006

John Jeffire came to The University of Findlay in 1989 to accept a job as a senior lecturer in English and as the head wrestling coach. Recruiting is the lifeblood of college athletics. Coach Jeffire mastered this and went on to achieve success that no one thought was possible in wrestling at UF. During his eight-year career at Findlay, he produced 43 NAIA All-Americans, live NAIA Individual National Champions, and six NAIA Academic All-Americans. His teams competed against the best wrestling programs in the region, in all divisions, and had success. He remains the winningest coach in UF history with a record of 70-22-2. His teams compiled a 11-8 record against NAIA Division I schools, had five NAIA National Meet top 10 finishes, and his career highlight was achieved in 1995 when the Oiler “Roughnecks” brought home an NAIA National wrestling title. For his efforts, Coach Jeffire was named the 1995 NAIA National Wrestling Coach of the Year and was a member and former president of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches Association. In 1998, he was inducted into the Hancock County Athletic Hall of Fame and since his days at Findlay, he has twice been named the Michigan Wrestling Coaches Association Regional Coach of the Year. John graduated with his B.A. from St. Lawrence University, his M.A. from Northeastern University and his M.A.T. from Boston University. He currently resides in Clinton Township, Mich., with his wife and two children. He is currently the head wrestling coach and English teacher at Chippewa Valley High School.

Jenni McGraw | 1996 | Inducted 2006

Jenni McGraw chose to come to Findlay after helping to lead Elida High School to a state runner-up finish in 1990. Jenni’s natural point guard position is considered by many basketball coaches to be the toughest position to play. To be good, it takes a special blend of talent, leadership, confidence and anticipation to excel in college. She helped guide the team to a four-year record of 108 wins and 20 losses during her four-year career. The previous four teams had gone 46-55. She holds several school records that still stand today. She is the all-time leader in assists in a career with 423 and is tied in total games played of 128. She remains the second leading scorer all-time at UF with 1,497 points. Jenni capped off a remarkable career at Findlay by being named the Mid-Ohio Conference (MOC) Player of the Year and to the NAIA All-American First Team in 1996. She was also named All-MOC as a junior and helped lead the Oilers to the NAIA National Tournament in each of her four seasons. Like a quarterback in football, a point guard’s personal success is usually measured by the number of wins and losses that the team achieves. Jenni’s athletic resume is sparkling for that very reason. Jenni graduated from The University of Findlay in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in education and later achieved her master’s degree education from Marygrove College. After spending time as the head girls’ basketball coach, Jenni is currently a physical education and health teacher at Allen East High School. She resides in Findlay, Ohio.

Steve Rolston | 1977 | Inducted 2006

Steve Rolston was one fo those students who grew up in a small town and never wanted to live anywhere else. After a great high school career at Upper Scioto Valley High School in the early 1970’s, Steve came to Findlay College. His sparkling baseball career never received the recognition that it probably deserved. The team has undergone several coaching changes, among other things. Regardless, Steve still holds several school records. His .385 career batting average, from 1973-1977, is still the best ever in school history, and his .541 batting average in 1976 is also the best ever in school history and was the second best in the entire NAIA that year. He has the second most triples all-time and his .970 fielding percentage at first base is among the best in school history. Steve’s incredible season in 1976 has gone unnoticed by many people because he was never nominated for All-American honors dur to a paperwork issue. He was named to the First Team All-Hoosier Buckeye Conference and All-District 22. Following his graduation from Findlay College in 1977, Steve returned to his roots in Hardin County. He was an educator and baseball coach for the past 20 years, the first 13 at Hardin Northern and the last seven at Upper Scioto Valley High School. He and his family were very active at the Lima YMCA, and they were named the Family of the Year in 1995. Steve passed away on September 7, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer and two children, including a daughter, Jessica, who is a currently member of the UF Softball team.

Chris Smith | 1993 | Inducted 2006

Findlay Oiler football team won the NAIA National Championship in 1992. That team has many standout players on both sides of the ball. Maybe none were more dominant than a defensive tackle, Chris Smith. Chris was a player that coaches talk about and uses as an example to younger players. He gradually improved from his very first day on the field to his final game – the national title game. Chris was named as the Defensive Player of the Game in both the NAIA National Semi-finals and the NAIA National Championship game. He was named the Conference Defensive Player of the Week three times during his senior year. Clearly, Chris elevated his game near the end of his career and was a driving force behind the national title, which Findlay won 26-13 over Linfield College. For his efforts, Smith was named an NAIA All-American in 1992 and earned All-District 22 honors after both his junior and senior seasons. Chris and teammate Bob Heitkamp, who is also in the Athletic Hall of Fame, led a defensive unit that allowed only 11 points per game en route to a 12-1 season. Chris is a native of Fremont, Ohio. He graduated from The University of Findlay in 1993 with a degree in business administration. He is currently employed as the Vice President of Smith Crane Service, Inc. He has been with the company for 13 years, the last five as vice president. He used his experience in athletics to help him get where he is today and he feels that in his own life, “Sports helped him build character, promote teamwork, learn self-discipline, and create friendships that last a lifetime.”

Lisa (Hallock) Evans | 1993 | Inducted 2007

Lisa (Hallock) Evans would spend her four years at Findlay from 1989-1993 garnering honors in virtually every distance even that she competed in. she was an NAIA All-American in 3 different events, two relays and the 1,000-yd. run. She qualified for the NAIA National Championships 10 times during her career – twice in Cross Country, 4 times in Indoor Track and 4 times in Outdoor Track. She was also a 3 time NAIA National Scholar Athlete and helped lead her team to 3 straight NAIA District 22 championships. In 1993, the UF Athletic Department awarded her the Mancuso Trophy as the top female student-athlete. Lisa has kept herself quite busy and involved since she left UF. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Findlay in 1993 with a degree in Social Work and Psychology. While at UF, she was the Founders Daughter, received a Town & Campus Scholarship, was Vice-President of the Social Work Club, was named the outstanding Social Work student in 1993, and was the senior attendant for Homecoming. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Ohio State University in 1997 and is currently a Social Worker at the Fostoria Community Hospital. She had been at FCH for 10 years and received numerous employee of the year honors. She currently resides in Perrysburg, Ohio with her son Preston.

Bo Hurley | 1996 | Inducted 2007

In 1994, a quarterback arrived on campus that would transform the Oiler wishbone running attack into an offense that was equally potent through the air. The Findlay Oiler offense would be in good hands for the next four years. Bo Hurley became a household name when fans talked about Findlay football. He was equally adept at running and passing and would hurt teams either way. He was a rare four-year starter and led his teams to a career record of 41-3-1 and two NAIA National Title in 1995 & 1997. His legacy and records may never be broken. His teammates voted him as their offensive MVP 4 straight years. Bo currently holds 10 school records including career TD passes and career yardage. In 1997 he was named to the First Team All-American Team and as the Rawlings NAIA National Player of the Year. Bo was equally impressive in the classroom. He was a three time Academic All-American as well. Bo graduated from The UF with his bachelor’s degree in Marketing & Business Administration. While finishing his athletic eligibility, he began work on his Master’s degree in Business Administration. In 1998, Bo would receive his MBA from UF in Organizational Leadership. While at Findlay, he was on the SIFE Team and in the Marketing Club. Bo is employed with Ashland Inc. as a Territory Manager. He currently resides in Centerville, Ohio with his wife Courtney and two daughters, Isabella and Emerson.

Ronald L. Lucy | 1995 | Inducted 2007

The University of Findlay Oiler “Roughneck” Wrestling program under Coach John Jeffire began making a name for itself in the early 1990’s. many top wrestlers came to UF to help the Oiler “Roughnecks” capture the NAIA National Team Championship in 1995. Probably no wrestler was more consistent in his four years at Findlay than Ron Lace. Ronald currently holds 3 school records. He holds records for all-time wins (123), career take downs (425), and takedowns in a season (129). He was a model of consistency as he stood on the podium at the NAIA National Championships all four years at UF. In 1992, he finished 6th, in 1993 he finished 5th, in 1994 he finished 3rd, and in 1995 he finished as National Runner-up. He was a 3-year captain and was awarded the Mancuso Trophy as the top male student-athlete at Findlay in 1995. He also excelled in the classroom and was named a GTE Academic Hazardous Materials Management and Biology degree in 1995 and his Master’s Degree in Environmental Management in 1997 – both from The UF. He is currently the Director of Environmental Health & Safety at the EES Group, Inc. he is an active member of several Environmental organizations in the Central Ohio region. Ronald resides in Dublin, Ohio with his wife, Amanda (Hammons – UF Class of 98) and his four children – Chloe, Connor, Ava, and Rowan.

Martin Allen Parrill | 1973 | Inducted 2007

Martin (Marty) Parrill came to Findlay College after a successful high school career at Springfield Catholic Central. While in high school, he helped lead his legion team to Ohio State Tournament Title and was named the MVP. Marty came to Findlay College as a dual sport athlete in Baseball and Basketball, but it was on the baseball diamond that he left his mark. He was a four-year starter at Shortstop and Third Base for Hall of Fame Coach, Homer Shadle. He helped lead his team to three NAIA Mid-Ohio Conference Titles and led the Oilers in several categories throughout his career, including Batting Average, RBI’s, Slugging Percentage, and Home Runs. After graduating from Findlay college in 1973 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Marty was selected in the 18th round of the baseball draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He had a very productive professional career that lasted from 1973-78. During those six years, Marty would move all the way up to the AAA level, but the presence of Baseball Hall of Famer – Brooks Robinson kept him from advancing further. He was near the top of several offensive categories during his career in the minor leagues. In 1976, he received the AA League MVP award for his outstanding season. Martin and his wife Dana currently reside in Oceanside, California and he is retired. They have two children, Brooke and Bryan. He is retired after working in the building supply industry for many years.

Nicole (Clever) Ralston | 1995 | Inducted 2007

The University of Findlay women’s basketball program enjoyed tremendous success in the mid 1990’s. While basketball is a great team game, one player would become the heart and soul of those successful teams. Nicole Clever came to The University of Findlay from Marion, Ohio and helped lead her team to a three-year record of 83-12 and three consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances (All 3 appearances were the first in schools history – 1993, 1994, 1995). The 1994-95 team still holds nine school’s records including 32 wins that season and a Sweet 16 finish. Nicole is certainly one of the more decorated players in Oiler women’s basketball history. She is the fourth all-time leading scorer (1,331 points), and still holds the school record for steals in a game (8). As a junior (1993-94), she was named to the NAIA All-American Second Team and as a senior (1994-95), she became the first women’s basketball player to be named to the NAIA All-American First Team. She was also named to the Kodak All-American as both a junior and senior. Nicole got it done in the classroom as well. She was an NAIA and GTE Academic All-American as both a junior and senior. Nicole graduated from UF in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She currently resides in Lewis Center, Ohio with her son, Kaden. She is employed with The Department of Justice as a Deputy United States Marshall and is an active member of several law enforcement associations.

Jim Ryan | 1980 | Inducted 2007

Jim graduated from Olmsted Falls High School in 1976 and came to Findlay College as a dual athlete in Baseball and Football. He had success in both, becoming a three-year football letterman and a four year baseball letterman. As a Linebacker in football, Jim was an All-HBC and District 22 selection and his coaching staff named him as their Most Valuable Defensive Lineman. He helped lead the Oilers to the 1979 NAIA National Football Title. One the baseball diamond, Jim received the “Coaches Award” following a fine career as a First and Third baseman. After enjoying a fine college playing career in two sports, Jim’s teaching/coaching career has exceeded that. Ji has coached numerous high school sports, but football has been where he has left his mark. In 1988, he was hired to coach his alma mater, Olmstead Fall. His teams have compiled a record of 143-65, been to the State Playoffs, 9 times, won the conference (SWC) title 6 times, and won the OHSAA State Title in 2000. Jim has served as the President of the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association and been selected to coach on the Big 33 Staff on two different occasions. He is also a past president of the Olmsted Falls Education Association. Jim graduated from Findlay College in 1980 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minor in Education. He later received his Master’s Degree in Education from Cleveland State University. He currently resides in Olmsted Falls, Ohio with his wife Terry. They have two children – Meaghan and Ben.

Nathan A. Arnold | 1996 | Inducted 2008

Many people remember the wishbone offensive attack that Dick Strahm employed, but an aggressive, hard-hitting defense was always a staple of the championship teams under Coach Strahm. Nathan came to Findlay in 1993 from tiny Lucas High School. The Division I coaches overlooked his talents because of the size and obscure location of the school. Their loss was certainly Findlay’s gain. During his stellar career as a defensive tackle, Arnold was virtually unblockable. He lettered all four years and was a First Team NAIA All-American in 1995 and 1996. He was named honorable mention All-NAIA in 1994. Despite facing double team blocking each game, he set a school season record of 12 sacks in 1995 and remains second as the all-time leader in sacks for a career. He helped lead his team to the 1995 NAIA national title and was named as the 1996 National Defensive Player of the Year by the Bob Griese College Football Yearbook. Nathan graduated from The UF with a bachelor’s degree in native interpretation and a minor in geology. Nathan is married to Amity and he couple has three children: Jacob, Tristen, and Keegan. They currently reside in Mansfield, Ohio, where Arnold is employed by Metzger Gleisinger Mechanical as a job site foreman.

Andre’ L. Eley | 1997 | Inducted 2008

The University of Findlay Track & Field programs have flourished under head coach, Marc Arce. This core of athletes helped form a team that became a force in NAIA Track & Field circles. One of the stars in the mid 1990’s was Andre’ Eley. Andre’ excelled as both a sprinter and a jumper. He won the LJ in the District 22 and MOC meets all four years along with a variety of sprint and relay titles as well. He was the meet MVP in 1996. He was an NAIA All-American 8 times (6 in long jump and 2 in relays). He capped off his career by winning the 1994 NAIA National Championship in Long Jump at the Indoor meet. In 1996, he helped lead the Men’s Indoor Track & Field team to a 5th place finish in the NAIA Championship. He remains the school record holder in the Long Jump for both the Indoor (24’3.75”) and Outdoor (25’2.25”) seasons. Andre’ helped blaze a trail of other athletes from Connecticut to Findlay for the Track & Field programs. He was very active on campus and a member of the Black Student Union and the National Criminal Justice Association. Andre’ graduated from UF in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice & Sociology. He currently resides in Manchester, CT with his daughter, Ashlee. He is employed as a Corrections Officer for the State of Connecticut, where he has been employed since 2004.

Doug Krauss | 1976 | Inducted 2008

Doug Krauss graduated from high school in the early 1970’s and came to Findlay College to embark on a great baseball career. As a freshman, Doug excelled on the diamond. He was a four-year letterman and helped lead his team to the NAIA Region VI Playoffs. During the 1975 season, Doug batted .301 and finished second on his team in hits and RBI’s. during his four-year career, the baseball team was 35-9 in the Hoosier Buckeye Conference and won two league titles. He did all his playing with the use of just one eye. Following graduation from Findlay College with his bachelor’s degree in 1976. Krauss would go on to a Hall of Fame coaching career that he is still working on. As the head basketball coach for the last 24 years at Archbold High School, Coach Krauss has accumulated a record of 380 wins and 160 losses. His teams have won 12 NWOAL league titles, six District titles, and four Regional titles. They have been to four OHSAA Final Fours in Columbus. He has been league coach of the year nine times and the OHSAA State Coach of the Year in 1996. In addition, he was the head baseball coach at Archbold H.S. for 14 years accumulating a record of 177-11-1 and garnering three league coach of the year honors in that sports as well. Doug also has his master’s degree from The University of Toledo and resides in Archbold, Ohio with his wife, Sue. The couple has three grown children: Laura, Tim, and Amy. Doug recently retired from teaching, but is still the head boys’ basketball coach at Archbold High School and works as an Ohio sales representative for Daktronics.

Kiki (Corliss) Lorann | 1998 | Inducted 2008

While in high school, Kiki was a five-time Lake Erie Junior Golf Champion. She was also the first OHSAA girl’s golf individual champion when she won the state title as a senior in the first OHSAA girl’s golf state tournament event. One of the golf program’s first signees has proven to be one of the all-time great female athletes at The University of Findlay. Kiki (Corliss) Lorann has an incredible four-year career at UF. She was a tournament medalist 15 times during her career, which is 10 more than any other golfer in school history. She was a four-year letter winner, and still holds the 54-hole school record. She was a four-time NAIA All-American and capped off a great career by winning the NAIA individual national championship as a senior in 1998. Her great individual play helped the team finish fourth in the NAIA national team standing that same season. During her career, she recorded a hole-in-one at Sycamore Springs during the UF tournament and won the long drive contest at the NAIA championship. Her career scoring average was an 83.71. While at UF, Kiki was in the Marketing Club and was a leader in the SIFE program. In addition, Kiki was a work study student in both the business area and the Office of the Registrar. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from UF in 1998 and is a member of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management). She is married to James and the couple has two children: Aaron Gase and Josh Lorann. They currently reside in Wauseon, Ohio.

Ted Miller | 1971 | Inducted 2008

Ted miller came to Findlay College following a great high career at Kittanning, Pa. At Kittanning, he helped lead his high school team to the Pennsylvania State baseball championship. In 1967 Ted packed his bags and headed west to Findlay. While at Findlay he was a three-year starter at running back in Football and a four-year starting catcher in baseball. He was an all-conference (Mid-Ohio) performer in both sports. In 1971, he had one of the best seasons ever for a Findlay baseball player. His .525 batting average remains second best all-time on his way to the team MVP that season. His career batting average of .371 is third all-time in school history. Following his graduation from FC in 1971, Miller went on to become a high school baseball coach. His coaching career lasted 27 years at Leipsic High School and was full of success. He coached teams to 23 league titles and was league coach of the year 21 times. His 1976 baseball team captured the OHSAA State Championship with a record of 29-1. His career coaching recent was 410 wins and just 177 losses. In addition to his bachelor’s degree from Findlay College in 1971, Coach Miller received a master’s degree from the University of Dayton in 1979. He recently retired after 30 years in education. He is currently a member of the Armstrong County (Pa.) Sports Hall of Fame and the Hancock County Sports Hall of Fame. Ted currently resides in Ottawa, Ohio with his wife Shari. The couple has two grown sons: Matt and Nick.

Rick Brunswick | 1979 | Inducted 2009

Rick Brunswick was a member of a state championship basketball team at Marion Local High School, and he brought that winning philosophy with him to Findlay College. Brunswick’s competitive nature and work ethic enabled him to excel both on the basketball court and in the classroom at Findlay. He was named a team captain twice, and earned both National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-District 22 and All-Hoosier Buckeye Conference honors during the 1977-78 and 1978-79 seasons. Brunswick, a point guard, scored 853 points during his Findlay College career, leading the Oilers with 426 points during his junior season. An outstanding student, Brunswick was nominated for the NAIA’s Emil S. Listen Award during his junior season as the top student-athlete in District 22. A member of the Marketing Club, Brunswick was named Marketing Student of the Year in 1978. He then received the Findlay College Founder’s Son Award at graduation. Brunswick has held several management and consulting positions since leaving Findlay College, and earned his MBA from Ashland University in 1987. He is currently the Director of Purchasing and Materials for the Marion Area Health Center Smith Clinic. He has also served as a United Way campaign volunteer, and as a YMCA and American Youth Basketball Tour coach for his children Matthew, Ryan, Jason and Tina. Brunswick and his wife, Marlene, reside in Forest, Ohio.

Earl Fletcher | 1975 | Inducted 2009

Earl Fletcher demonstrated the ideal of the well-rounded student-athlete while at Findlay College. As a baseball center fielder, Fletcher earned two letters and batted .330 for his career, including a .400 mark as a junior when he earned First Team All-HBCC honors and received the Findlay College Batting Award. Fletched was also nominated for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Emil S. Liston Award as a junior, finishing high in the voting. The Findlay College baseball team was HBCC champion in 1974 and co-champion in 1975, with Fletcher serving as a team co-captain in ’75. These accomplishments reflect Fletcher’s philosophy of “One Team – One Dream.” If you work hard at your craft, whatever it is, within the boundaries and spirit of teamwork, great things can be accomplished.” In 1974, Fletcher was the first junior to be selected as the head resident in a dormitory at Findlay College. He was named to the Dean’s List for all his 12 quarters, graduating Cum Laude. Fletcher was selected for Who’s Who Among Students in Colleges and Universities in 1975. Fletcher is one of eight founding members of the National Association of Black Accountants of Columbus, Ohio, in 1976. He received the Junior Achievement Bronze Award in 1985 as one of the organization’s 100 best instructors nationally. Fletcher has served on the Columbus Regional UF Alumni Chapter for many years. He has been a plant and divisional controller, and is currently an assistant vice president and general manager for YSK Corp. Fletcher resides in Gahanna, Ohio, and has a daughter Keah Marie Chilton.

Miron Kharchilava | 1995 | Inducted 2009

Miron Kharchilava, a native of the country of Abkhazia, had compiled an amazing wrestling resume before enrolling at Findlay in 1991. As a member of the Soviet National Team, he won the Soviet Junior National Championship at 149.5 pounds in 1986. Kharchilava was a silver medalist at the Medved International in 1989 and was the Soviet University National Champion at 163 pounds in 1990. Since his Arrival in the U.S. in 1991, Kharchilava has won the Michigan Open (1992), the Sunkist International (1992) and was the U.S. Open International Champion in 1994. In 1992, Kharchilava was extended a special invitation to train at the Olympic Training Camp at the Foxcatcher Farms. He was also invited to the 1993 World Team Camp in Colorado Springs. Kharchilava has defeated Olympic Team members and medalists, a member of the U.S. World Team and NCAA Division I Champions, as well as qualifying for the World Team Trials, finishing in the Top 5. Dur to international guidelines, Miron was granted just one year of eligibility. He made the most of the season, helping the UF Roughnecks capture their first NAIA National Wrestling Championship in 1995. Kharchilava was the national champion at 167 pounds, and was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler. Kharchilava earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education, and went on to serve as an assistant at Indiana University for three years and The Ohio State University of six years. He currently owns the Team Miron Wrestling facility in Dublin, Ohio and resides with his wife, Jeanna, and children in Powell, Ohio. 

Mark Massie | 1983 | Inducted 2009

Mark Massie was a baseball player who was gifted with a strong arm, foot speed, and the ability to hit for both power and a high average. He roamed the spacious center field position at Findlay College for three seasons, influencing the outcomes of games both offensively and defensively. During his three years of baseball at Findlay, Massie was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics First Team District 22 selection in 1981 and 1982, and an All-Area IV selection in ’82. Massie belted eight home runs in 1982, a record which he still shares with several other Oilers, and 14 for his career plus a .511 slugging percentage. Also, a threat on the bases, Massie stole 42 bases, currently third in the Findlay record book. His depth of talent landed him an invitation to try out with the U.S. Pan American Baseball Team in 1983, making it to the final roster cut. Massie credits athletics for teaching him “the importance of teamwork, working together for a common goal, leadership and building lasting friendships.” Massie has been employed as a Department of Defense civilian for more than 25 years and has been awarded numerous performance awards, including civilian of the Quarter Awards, the Professionalism in Contracting for Supervisors Award and the Exemplary Civilian Service Award. Massive has coached youth baseball, basketball and football for the YMCA, Catholic Youth Organization. Pop Warner and Amateur Athletic Union for more than 10 years. Massie and his wife, Lorraine, currently reside in San Antonio, Texas, with their sons, Troy and Kyle.

Heather Ruhe | 1999 | Inducted 2009

Heather Ruhe began her career at The University of Toledo, recording the team’s low-stroke average in 1996 plus four top-10 tournament finishes and one tournament medalist honor in 1997. Ruhe continued to showcase her abilities at Findlay by claiming medalist honors at one tournament, second or third place in four others plus on all-tournament team while a junior, and four medalist finishes in her 11 tournaments as a senior. Ruhe was named NAIA All-American in both 1998 and 1999. During the NAIA Championship in 1998 where UF finished fourth, Ruhe was the individual runner-up, and in ’99 she finished in sixth place. Ruhe currently holds the UF lowest career scoring average at 83.34 and ranks third in season scoring average at 82.63. she also recorded the fourth-lowest 18-hole score with a 2-over-par 75 at the 1998 NAIA Championship. As a student, Ruhe earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish. Ruhe’s golf resume also reflects professional success with Top-25 finishes at the 2003 Michigan Women’s Open and the 2004 Georgia Women’s Open. She was a Futures Tour Member from 1993 through 2000. She has been continually involved in marketing, player development and golf instruction since graduation. Ruhe is currently a PGA teaching professional in Atlanta, GE., specializing in player developmental programs for all levels of play. She is teaming with other golf experts in launching BreakmyPar.com which focuses on course management, physical fitness, nutrition, mental training and traditional swing techniques.

Rebekah (Kemp) Wiles | 1995 | Inducted 2009

Rebekah (Kemp) Wiles named the NAIA “Athlete of the Year” by College Sports Magazine in 1995, after receiving 14 All-American athletic and academic honors. As a soccer player, Wiles made the NAIA National All-Tournament Team in 1994, and earned her fourth NAIA All-America honor, the last three being Second Team. During those same years, she was named three times to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America Team. The well-rounded Wiles was an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete in 1993 and 1994. Wiles added more honors during track, earning NAIA Indoor All-America in 1994 with a fourth-place finish in the high jump. She was District Champion and high jump record holder in 1993 and 1994, and Mid-Ohio Conference champion and high jump record holder in 1995. She was an outdoor NAIA national qualifier three times and an indoor NAIA national qualifier twice. Wiles was again an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete in 1995. In one season of basketball, Wiles was a member of an NAIA Division II national quarterfinalist and was an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete in 1995. Wiles stayed true to her philosophy that “sports teach mental toughness, which is essential to success in every aspect of life.” Wiles and her husband, Philip, reside in White Lake, Mich., with their children, Gavin, Lauren, and Katelyn. After a one-year stint in the Women’s Premier Soccer League and several years of teaching and coaching. Wiles has been a special agent with the F.B.I., for the past five years.
