Top Athletes Since 2000 | Waylon Lowe

Since we can't play sports, we have decided to look back on the past 20 years and highlight some of the best student-athletes to wear the Orange and Black since 2000. Our first standout is three-time NCAA Division II wrestling national champion, Waylon Lowe.

Waylon had an incredible career for the Roughnecks and ranks fifth all-time at Findlay with 112 career wins. He won NCAA Division II national titles in 2002 and 2003 in the 149-pound weight class before capturing another one in 2004 in the 165-pound weight class. He was named the 2004 NCAA Division II Most Outstanding Wrestler and was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American.

Before the Oilers joined the NCAA Division II full-time, Waylon also picked up an All-American honor from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in 2000 after finishing third at the national meet in the 149-pound weight class.
