Oilers to Play Indoor Events Without Fans

The University of Findlay has announced that all indoor sporting contests taking place during the 2020-21 academic year will be held without fans due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was not taken lightly by university administration who placed the priority of holding athletic competition and the safety of our student-athletes first.

"Over the past several months, we have collaborated with a number of constituents to determine the best way to safely and responsibly host indoor athletic competitions," said University of Findlay Director of Athletics, Brandi Laurita. "The safety of our student-athletes, staff, campus, and community is our top priority. Therefore, a difficult decision was made to close all indoor athletic contests on campus to the public. We understand this has a direct impact on the families of our student-athletes, but felt this was a necessary step to be able to move forward with indoor athletic competitions."

The department of athletics is planning on providing video streams for many of the indoor competitions during the 2020-21 season. Links to video, live statistics, and more can be found at athletics.findlay.edu.
