Findlay Finishes Fourth in the Country with 236 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards

Findlay, Ohio – On Thursday, August 3, the Division II Athletic Directors Association (DII ADA) announced the recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards. Out of 300 schools, the University of Findlay finished fourth with 236 athletes earning the award.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed two years of college level work. In total, there were a record breaking 19,646 student-athletes from 196 institutions recognized for the 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards. This is the most student-athletes being recognized since the inception of the awards program.

"We are very proud of the work of our student-athletes in the classroom this past year", said Director of Athletics Jim Givens. "Finishing fourth in the country proves their dedication to excellence not only in sports but also in their academics and that is a testament to their unwavering commitment to personal growth. It's a privilege to lead a community that values the development of our student-athletes, where success isn't just measured by trophies but by the impact they make in the classroom and beyond."
