Oilers Split Against Ohio Dominican

The University of Findlay Oilers baseball team split a pair against Ohio Dominican University on Wednesday, April 18th in Columbus, Ohio.

Findlay scored five runs in the sixth inning to win 5-3 in game one.

The big inning started when Blake Schmenk and Riley Christian singled.  After Tommy Roush reached on a fielder's choice, Reid Rothenbuhler's sacrifice fly scored Schmenk to tie the score at one.  Victor Migliore and David Cort recorded RBI singles giving the Oilers their second and third runs of the game.

After an Ohio Dominican pitching change, Nathaniel Fitch singled to load the bases.  Jon Shollenberger gave the Oilers their fourth and fifth runs of the game with a two run single.

Migliore and Cort each went 2-for-4 in the game with and RBI and a run scored. 

Aaron Geis allowed five hits and one earned run while striking out four in six innings to pick up his second win of the season, pushing his record to 2-2.

The Oilers lost game two 4-3.

Migliore kept swinging a hot bat, going 3-for-3 with an RBI.  Schmenk, Christian, Roush and Dylan Cintula recorded the only other hits for Findlay.

The split gives the Oilers a 14-21 record on the season with a 7-15 mark in GLIAC play.  They will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday to take on Grand Valley State in a four game series in Findlay, Ohio.
