Schmenk Earns 1st Team All-Region Honors
Senior outfielder Blake Schmenk was named first team all-region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on May 16.
Schmenk, a first team all-conference pick this season as well, is the first Oilers baseball player to earn first team all-region honors by the ABCA since Rob Talpas did so after the 2004 campaign.
As a senior, Schmenk set a school record with 54 runs scored and tied the school record for walks in a season with 34. He also hit a team-high .377 on the year and stole 20 bases.
The Perrysburg, Ohio native also racked up ten doubles, two triples, two home runs and 21 runs batted in.
