Findlay got things started in a hurry as they would combined to score nine runs in their first three innings of the season, taking a 9-0 lead on the Cardinals. Those scoring plays were highlighted with a triple of the bat of Derrick Herd that scored Casey Gould in the first inning, giving the Oilers their first run of the season.
