Oilers Split on Last Day of Regular Season.

Columbus, OH- The University of Findlay baseball team played their final two games of the season in Columbus against the Ohio Dominican University (ODU) Panthers. Findlay looked to finish the season strong and make some waves in the G-MAC (Great Midwest Athletic Conference) standings. 

Findlay started the game off strong with a big 3 run 1st inning. Junior Cam Farrar started it off with an RBI double that brought junior Aiden Lao around to score. With that RBI Farrar has moved to the top of the Findlay record book for most RBIs in a season.  Junior Nolan O'Connell brought in the final two runs of the inning with an RBI double that scored Farrar and Senior Ryan O'Malley.  

Senior Tyler Burley would score in the top of the 2nd inning on a throwing error to give the Oilers a 4-0 lead, 

ODU would score in the bottom of the 5th inning on a two-run homerun to bring the score to 4-2 in favor of the Oilers. 

Senior Jordan Bekier would start on the mound and throw the entire game for the Oilers. Bekier would allow only 2 earned runs while striking out 3 batters while picking up his 7th win of the season. 

Findlay would start the game off scoring early again with a two-run homerun by Farrar that scored freshmen Jabin Bates in the top of the 1st inning. This homerun, Farrars 11th of the season, would give him the school record for most homeruns in a season by any Findlay baseball player.

In the top of the 3rd inning Farrar drove in another run with an RBI single to score Lao. Farrar would score on a wild pitch later in the inning to give the Oilers a 4-run lead. 

ODU would work their way back to a 4-3 lead in the 4th inning and then would tie the game up in the 5th inning at 4 runs each. 

The Panthers would take the lead 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th inning. 

Farrar would come around to score on in the top of the 8th inning on a wild pitch to tie the game back up at 5 runs each. 

ODU would take the lead back in the 8th inning to win the game 6-5. 

Sophomore Logan Bragg would start the game on the mound for the Oilers and throw the first 5 innings for the Oilers allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 5 batters. Junior Sebastian Jones would throw next for Findlay allowing 1 earned run in 1.2 innings of work. Junior Spencer Giesige would throw the next .1 innings striking out the batter he faced. Freshmen Zavier Thornton would throw the next .1 innings allowing one earned run. Senior Ryan Mohr would finish the game on the mound for the Oilers allowing no earned runs and striking out one batter. 

With the split, Findlay finishes the season with an 18-31 overall record and a 13-17 record in the G-MAC.
