Baseball Shutout on Final Day in Cary, NC

Cary, NC - The University of Findlay baseball team concluded its' trip to the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, NC with a 4-0 loss on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the hands of Seton Hill. That defeat gives the Oilers a 2-1 start to the year while the Griffins start 1-2.

After sweeping Seton Hill yesterday, the Oilers fell behind early on Sunday, giving up a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.

That is all the offense the Griffins would need as Findlay struggled offensively, managing just three hits while striking out 11 times in the nine-inning affair.

Senior Aidan Lao led the way, picking up two of the three Oilers' hits, including one double. He also stole a pair of bases in the contest.

The only other hit of the game belonged to sophomore Austin Adelman, a fourth-inning single.

Freshman Blaine Wynk took the loss on the hill in his first career start. He tossed 4.2 innings and allowed just two runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out three.

Seton Hill got a solid outing out of their starter as Aidan Layton went six innings and struck out nine.

Findlay is back in action starting on Sunday, Feb. 26 when they begin a nine-game trip to the Sunshine State.
