Oilers Seeded 4th in Midwest Region

The University of Findlay men's basketball team is seeded fourth in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region and will play Lake Superior State University in the first round, which is scheduled to take place on March 15 in Springfield, Mo.

The Oilers, who received an automatic bid after defeating Michigan Technological University by a score of 69-63 on Sunday in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship, have a record of 24-5 on the year. Their championship win made it three in a row for the Oilers, the first time a school in the league has ever won three straight tournament titles.

Findlay has now qualified for the NCAA Division II National Tournament 12 times in the past 13 years. They won the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship with a 36-0 record and also qualified for the 2005 Elite 8.
