#20 Oilers Win Big Over #6IUP

The University of Findlay men's basketball team, who is ranked 20th in the nation, came away with an 80-61 win over 6th-ranked Indiana (Pa.) on Nov. 3 at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic in Evansville, Ind. The win gives the Oilers a 1-0 record on the season.

The Oilers came out gunning early and took a 42-24 lead at the break. The Crimson Hawks had no answer for the Oilers offense as Findlay ended the game by hitting 57.1 percent (32-of-56) of their field goal attempts. They also made 41.7 percent (10-of-24) of their three point attempts and forced 20 turnovers in the victory.

Senior guard Elijah Kahlig led the team with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting. He also canned 6-of-12 attempts from behind the three point line and added a pair of assists in the game.

Senior forward Taren Sullivan added 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting and also chipped in six assists and four rebounds.

Senior guard Martyce Kimbrough also reached double figures in the win with 11 points while sophomore forward Aaron Overhiser came off the bench to provide eight points on 4-of-4 shooting while junior forward Alex White had six points and team-high eight rebounds.

Freshman guard Tommy Schmock also had a good game for Findlay off the pine with four points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they face 5th-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:30 p.m.
