#17 Oilers Hold Off Pioneers | Win 81-76

The University of Findlay men's basketball team held on for an 81-75 win over Malone University on Dec. 8 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the 17th-ranked Oilers an 8-1 record on the year with a 3-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 44.6 percent (44.6%) from the floor and held Malone to a 40.8 percent (29-of-71) shooting clip in the win. They also blocked a season-high nine shots and had 20 asssists.

Senior forward Alex White led the way with a career-high 28 points. He also notched his fifth double-double of the season with 13 rebounds and tied his career-high with six blocked shots.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser posted a double-double as well after scoring 17 points to go alogn with ten rebounds.

Senior guard Trey Smith reached double figures with 11 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists while sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco contributed eight points, two rebounds and two assists.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 15 when they host Lake Erie College at 3pm in Croy Gymnasium.
