#6 Oilers Host Cedarville in Semifinals
The 6th-ranked Oilers will be at home on Friday, March 8 to host Cedarville in the semifinals of the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament. The game is scheduled to tip at 6:00 p.m.

Series Information
The Oilers hold a 74-23 advantage in the all-time series against Cedarville as the two programs have been meeting on the hardwood since 1910. In their first meeting, the Yellow Jackets came away with a 32-30 win over Findlay.
The two programs split their regular season series with each team winning on their home floor. Cedarville captured an 82-69 win over Findlay on Dec. 1 before the Oilers claimed an 81-68 victory over the Yellow Jackets on Jan. 31.
In the loss, Trey Smith paced the Oilers with 18 points while Deven Stover had 15.
In the win, Findlay shot 42.4 percent (28-of-66) from the floor and came away with 11 steals in the game. They were led by Alex White, who scored a game-high 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting. White also grabbed nine boards and came away with a pair of steals.
Tommy Schmock was outstanding as he produced 16 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists while Aaron Overhiser had 13 points and five boards.
Findlay
The Oilers are 26-3 on the season and have been led by Alex White who is averaging 18.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. White was also recently named the 2019 Great Midwest Player of the Year. He also earned first team all-conference honors and a spot on the all-defensive team.
Aaron Overhiser is chipping in 14.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while Trey Smith has made a team-high 64 three pointers and is averaging 11.3 points per contest. Overhiser was named second team all-conference while Smith captured first team accolades and was also selected to the all-defensive team.
Anthony Masterlasco is also averaging in double figures at 10.7 points per outing.
Cedarville
The Yellow Jackets are 18-11 on the season and reached the semifinals with an 81-77 win over Ohio Dominican.
Conner TenHove leads the Yellow Jackets and is averaging 15.2 points per outing. He is also contributing 6.2 rebounds per game and has made a team-high 53 three pointers, shooting 46.5 percent from long range.
Branden Maughmer is averaging 14.4 points per game while Grant Zawadzki and Kollin Van Horn are scoring 11.0 and 10.3 points per contest, respectively.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets are averaging 78.4 points per game and making 8.6 three pointers per outing.
An Elite Program
The Oilers have one of the best winning percentages in NCAA Division II competition since the year 2000, having won 469 games and lost only 113 for an overall winning percentage of .806. During that timeframe, the Oilers reached the Elite 8 in 2005, appeared in the Sweet 16 in 2008, 2017 and again in 2018, and won the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2009 with a perfect 36-0 record.
The Oilers have also appeared in the national tournament 14 times since becoming eligible during the 2000-01 campaign.
A Tough Place to Play
The Oilers are 625-120 (.839) in Croy Gymnasium since they starting playing home games there during the 1969-70 season. They have gone undefeated at home eight times in a season since they began play in Croy Gymnasium as well.
In the past 15 years the Oilers have posted a staggering 234-11 record at home for an incredible winning percentage of .955.
From 2008-11, the Oilers won 71-straight home games, which at the time was the longest streak in the nation regardless of NCAA division.
Conference Tournament Success
The Oilers have a 2-1 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament games. Findlay ended their run in the GLIAC with a 32-9 record in the conference tournament, winning titles in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Findlay appeared in the championship game of the event in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Their eight GLIAC Tournament titles are the most in league history.
The Oilers have been especially dominant at home in conference tournament games, sporting a 26-2 record in front of the home crowd in G-MAC and GLIAC Tournament games in Croy Gymnasium.
