Oilers Score 83-74 Win over Cedarville

The University of Findlay men's basketball team defeated Cedarville University by a score of 83-74 on Jan. 9 in Niekamp Arena. The victory gives the Oilers a 9-5 record on the season with a 4-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59) from the floor and connected on 16-of-22 (72.7%) attempts from the free throw line in the victory. They also dished out 23 assists and scored 44 points in the paint.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder paced Findlay with a season-high 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting. He also added six assists and five rebounds in the game.

Junior forward Anthony Masterlasco tied his season-high with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting while junior guard Tommy Schmock had ten points, seven assists, and four rebounds.

Senior forward Aaron Overhiser also reached double figures with ten points to go along with seven rebounds while freshman forward Nathan Bruns and sophomore forward Deven Stover had eight points apiece.

The Yellow Jackets, who shot 43.7 percent (31-of-71) from the floor, were led by Branden Maughmer's game-high 22 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 11 when they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to face Tiffin University at 3pm.
