Oilers Hold on For 69-63 Win Over Malone

The University of Findlay men's basketball team claimed a 69-63 win over Malone University on Jan. 30 in Niekamp Arena to push their record to 13-6 on the season. The win also gives them an 8-2 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

The Oilers shot 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the floor and held the Pioneers to a 38.1 percent (24-of-63) shooting clip. They also held a 39-33 advantage on the boards and scored 46 points in the paint during the victory.

Freshman forward Nathan Bruns led the Oilers with a double-double after scoring a team-high 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

Junior forward Anthony Masterlasco added 13 points and five rebounds while senior forward Aaron Overhiser had 13 points and seven boards.

Junior guard Tommy Schmock chipped in eight points and four assists while junior guard Tre'Maine Gray came off the bench to provide seven points, four rebounds, and two steals.

The Pioneers were led by Jaret Majestic's 19 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Feb. 1 when they host Walsh University at 3pm in Niekamp Arena.
