Overhiser Reaches 1,000 | Oilers Win Big

The University of Findlay men's basketball team claimed a 93-73 win over Ohio Dominican University on Feb. 13 in Niekamp Arena. The win pushes the Oilers record to 17-6 on the season with a 12-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers trailed the Panthers by a score of 39-35 at the break before outscoring them 58-34 in the second half. Findlay connected on 58.7 percent (37-of-63) of their field goal attempts in the win and also made 12-of-29 (41.4%) tries from behind the three point line. During their big second half, the Oilers made 71 percent (22-of-31) of their shot attempts and canned 8-of-12 (66.7%) attempts from three point range.

Senior forward Aaron Overhiser led the way with 14 points and became the Oilers 48th player to eclipse 1,000 points scored in a career. Overhiser, who added five rebounds and three assists, has now scored 1,004 career points in a Findlay uniform.

Junior forward Chazz George came off the bench to provide 14 points while junior forward Anthony Masterlasco had 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Freshman forward Nathan Bruns and junior guard Tre'Maine Gray also reached double figures with 11 and ten points, respectively.

Sophomore guard Ethan Linder nearly reached double figures with nine points to go along with six rebounds while senior forward Andrew Emrick had nine points on 4-of-4 shooting.

Junior guard Tommy Schmock stuffed the stat sheet in the victory as well, finishing with eight points, seven assists, and six rebounds.

The Panthers were led by Sam Hickey's 24 points.

Findlay will be back at home on Saturday to host Tiffin University at 3pm.
