#24 Oilers Host Dragons on Friday

The 24th-ranked Oilers will be at home on Dec. 11 to host Tiffin University in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) showdown. The game is scheduled to start at 3pm inside the Croy Physical Education Center.

Series Information

The Oilers hold a commanding 50-8 advantage in the all-time series against the Dragons dating back to the 1926-27 campaign when Tiffin won 22-21.

The Oilers swept their regular season series against Tiffin last year, winning 84-65 on the road and 93-75 at home.

In the road victory, Nathan Bruns led five Findlay players in double figures with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting while Tommy Schmock finished with 15 points, eight assists, four steals, and three rebounds.

Anthony Masterlasco finished with 12 points and six rebounds while Chazz George had 12 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds. Aaron Overhiser was the other Oilers player in double figures with 11 points while Andrew Emrick had six.

In the home win, the Oilers shot 62.9 percent (39-of-62) from the floor and made 8-of-18 (44.4%) tries from behind the three point line. They also forced 15 turnovers and limited the Dragons to a 41.4 percent (29-of-70) shooting clip.

Schmock led the way with 20 points and 13 assists. He converted 9-of-12 attempts from the floor and also added a pair of rebounds and a steal.

Bruns had 16 points, five rebounds, and three blocks while Overhiser and Ethan Linder each recorded 12 points apiece.

#24 Findlay

The Oilers began their 2020-21 season with an 80-73 win over Trevecca Nazarene University on Dec. 3 in Niekamp Arena.

The Oilers only shot 41.5 percent (27-of-65) from the floor, which included a 7-of-31 (22.6%) showing from three point range, but converted 19-of-23 (82.6%) tries from the free throw line in the win. The Trojans meanwhile made 48.2 percent (27-of-56) of their field goal attempts and 47.8 percent (11-of-23) of their three point tries. They made all of their free throw attempts in the game as well, but only went to the line eight times.

Tommy Schmock led the way with 17 points while Joey Edmonds came off the bench to tie his career-high with 14 points. Edmonds also added five rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals in the victory.

Anthony Masterlasco had 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting while Ethan Linder rounded out the Oilers in double figures with ten points to go along with seven rebounds.

Deven Stover nearly reached double figures with eight points and six rebounds while Tre'Maine Gray had seven points.

The Dragons are 2-0 on the season and are averaging 103.0 points per game.

Jaeden King leads the team and is averaging 26.5 points per contest while making five three pointers per game. Wesley Jordan is also off to a good start and is contributing 16.5 points per outing.

Tanner Johnson and Trent Williams are scoring 12.5 points per game while Thomas Hickman is also averaging in double figures at 11.0 points per contest.
