#24 Oilers Roll Past Ohio Valley 97-65

The 24th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team cruised to a 97-65 win over Ohio Valley University on Dec. 13 in Niekamp Arena. The victory gives the Oilers a perfect 3-0 record on the year.

The Oilers trailed 15-13 at the 13:04 mark of the first half before blowing the game wide open with a 30-0 run to take a 43-15 lead with just over six minutes to play in the period. They then took a 55-27 lead at the break before coasting through the second half as 13 different Findlay players scored.

The Oilers shot 49.4 percent (38-of-77) from the floor and held a 50-33 advantage on the boards in the game. They also limited the Fighting Scots to a mere 32.8 percent (19-of-58) shooting clip and came away with 12 steals on defense.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco paced the Oilers with 21 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals while junior guard Ethan Linder had 16 points and seven boards.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns posted his second straight double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds while senior guard Tommy Schmock had ten points and five assists.

Junior forward Brady Wildermuth nearly scored in double figures as he finished with eight points and five rebounds while sophomore guard Eisley Swaine and freshman forward Andrew Owens each had seven points apiece.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 17 when they host Trevecca Nazarene University in a non-conference contest beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Niekamp Arena.
