#6 Oilers Host Malone | Head to Walsh

The 6th-ranked Oilers will be at home on Jan. 8 to battle Malone University at 7:30 p.m. before hitting the road for the first time this season to take on Walsh University at 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 10.

COVID-19 Information

The Oilers will not permit spectators at home basketball games this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

*Walsh University will not be allowing fans at the game on Sunday as well.

Series Information (Malone)

The Oilers currently lead the all-time series against Malone by a 38-14 margin, winning the first meeting by a score of 86-63 during the 1959-60 campaign.

The Oilers claimed a 69-63 home win over the Pioneers last year in their only meeting. They shot 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the floor and held the Pioneers to a 38.1 percent (24-of-63) shooting clip.

Nathan Bruns led the Oilers with a double-double after scoring a team-high 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Anthony Masterlasco added 13 points and five rebounds while Aaron Overhiser had 13 points and seven boards.

Series Information (Walsh)

The Oilers hold a 25-10 lead in the all-time series against Walsh dating back to the 1964-65 campaign when Findlay came away with a 77-71 victory.

The Oilers went 1-2 against the Cavaliers last season. They split their regular season series as Findlay lost 81-72 on the road before winning 91-86 at home. Walsh then scored an 81-72 win over the Oilers in Niekamp Arena during the semifinals of the G-MAC Tournament.

In the road loss during the regular season, Ethan Linder had 18 points while Aaron Overhiser recorded 17. In the home win during the regular season, Nathan Bruns led the way with 19 points, five rebounds, and three steals.

In the tournament loss, the Oilers only shot 39-.7 percent (27-of-68) from the floor while the Cavaliers hit 51.9 percent (28-of-54) of their shot attempts in the game.

Linder led the way with 14 points while Overhiser had 12 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Masterlasco also reached double figures with 11 points while Chazz George came off the bench to provide nine points and three steals.

#6 Findlay

The Oilers are 5-0 on the season and are averaging 82.8 points per game. They have also rebounded the ball well, grabbing 38.6 boards per contest to out-rebound their opponents by 8.2 per game.

Senior forward Anthony Masterlasco leads the team in scoring at 14.6 points per game while connecting on 59.2 percent of his field goal attempts.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns is averaging 13.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while senior guard Tommy Schmock is averaging 11.4 points per contest while adding 5.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Junior guard Ethan Linder is also averaging in double figures at 11.4 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds per contest.
