#9 Oilers Head to Ky. Wesleyan & Trevecca

The 9th-ranked Oilers will head Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 21 before facing Trevecca Nazarene on Jan. 23. They will play the Panthers at 8:45 p.m. and battle the Trojans at 4:15 p.m.

Series Information (Kentucky Wesleyan)

The Oilers hold a 7-2 lead in the all-time series against Kentucky Wesleyan dating back to the 2001-02 campaign when they fell 94-89 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The Oilers swept their regular season series against the Panthers last year, winning 89-71 at home and 59-56 on the road. In the home win, Ethan Linder led the way with 17 points while Chazz George and Anthony Masterlasco also reached double figures with 12 and ten points, respectively.

In the road win, Linder led the Oilers with 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting while Aaron Overhiser had ten points on 5-of-6 shooting. George provided eight points while Masterlasco and Schmock had seven points apiece.

Series Information (Trevecca Nazarene)

The Oilers hold a 10-0 lead in the all-time series against the Trojans dating back to the 2016-17 campaign when Findlay claimed an 85-63 win on the road.

Findlay has two victories over the Trojans this year as they came away with an 80-73 win at home in the season opener and an 80-56 win at home on Dec. 17.

Tommy Schmock led the Oilers in the season opener with 17 points and then came back with 15 points and eight assists in their second victory over Trevecca Nazarene.

#9 Findlay

The Oilers are 7-1 on the season with a 6-1 record in league play. They have been led by senior forward Anthony Masterlasco, who is averaging 14.5 points per game on 66.2 percent shooting from the field.

Sophomore forward Nathan Bruns is averaging 11.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while senior guard Tommy Schmock is contributing 11.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.

The Panthers are 5-2 on the season with a 4-2 record in conference play. They are shooting 49.1 percent from the field as a team and are making 7.7 three pointers per game.

Tre Cobbs leads the team and is averaging 17.9 points per contest. He is followed by Zach Hopewell (13.0), Jamile Wilson (10.1), and Wyatt Battaile (10.0) as the other Panthers averaging in double figures.

The Trojans are 2-7 on the year with a 2-6 mark in league play. They are averaging 56.8 points per game and allowing 69.4.

Brendan Newton leads the team at 13.8 points per game while Chris Rogers is contributing 12.6 points per contest. Adam Webb is also averaging in double figures at 11.4 points per outing.
